Acts 19: [SUP]11 [/SUP]Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, [SUP]12 [/SUP]so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.[SUP]13 [/SUP]Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We[SUP][a][/SUP] exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.” [SUP]14 [/SUP]Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so.[SUP]15 [/SUP]And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?”
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered[SUP][b][/SUP] them, and prevailed against them,[SUP][c][/SUP] so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. [SUP]17 [/SUP]This became known both to all Jews and Greeks dwelling in Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.[SUP]18 [/SUP]And many who had believed came confessing and telling their deeds. [SUP]19 [/SUP]Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver. [SUP]20 [/SUP]So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed.

Really?? All of you, really?? Do you READ the OT at all??
Job 33: [SUP]14 [/SUP]“Indeed God speaks once,
Or twice, yet no one notices it.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]“In a dream, a vision of the night,
When sound sleep falls on men,
While they slumber in their beds,
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Then He opens the ears of men,
And seals their instruction,
[SUP]17 [/SUP]That He may turn man aside from his conduct,
And [SUP][f][/SUP]keep man from pride;
[SUP]18 [/SUP]He keeps back his soul from the pit,
And his life from [SUP][g][/SUP]passing over into Sheol.

You know a couple of days ago i had a dream I was Extremely thirsty, there was a man next to this fountain and i kept drinking the water over and over but my thirst could not be quenched, i then woke up just as thirsty as i was in the dream
Consider these verses that have to do with 'thirst'

  • Matthew 5:6“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
  • John 4:13Jesus answered and said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst ag
  • John 4:14but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”
    John 6:35
  • Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst
The man next to the fountain was Jesus, waiting for you to ask HIM for His Living Water; for you see that while your physical thirst cannot be quenched....He can satisfy your SPIRITUAL THIRST. The dream is given to encourage you to seek Him first.
    Maggie

maggie, really.
where do you get off telling someone else Jesus appeared to them in their dream?
you better be careful.
without saying too much more....picture scenarios where someone you have told is getting messages from God (which you just apparently have instant interpretations for) dreams a dream(s) that suggests that person do something bad.

it happens every day because people start thinking God is speaking to them directly - and some people keep encouraging this.
you're so brazen with this stuff maggie.
i marvel at your lack of fear of God.

Okay so a question .. I sleep soundly at night .. The last dream I had when I was asleep was of an angel.. I was standing in a dark room... The angel came from above my head , his feet never touched the ground .. Nor did he look at me .. I saw a double edged sword, the tip struck the ground three times and shook the atmosphere where I stood ..he was brilliant white , with a golden belt , and a gold sash draped over his right shoulder .. I was being lead somewhere as this angel went before me..and I could not see where we were going .. I have not had a sleeping dream since then .. Sleep is sound .. But since then I have been having awake dreams/ visions ..

Just as a disclaimer before I say anything else, I think that God can speak to people in many different ways. I can't place God in a box and say what ways He can and cannot use. Maybe He does use dreams.

However...

In all of the instances of dreams in the Bible, it was pre-Holy Spirit. Those dreams also had very specific purposes. With Joseph, his dreams were prophetic (his brothers would bow to him) and he interpreted the other prisoner's dreams, which were also prophetic (one would be saved, one would not). He interpreted another dream that was again prophetic: a famine was coming to the land. With the other Joseph (with Mary) he was told by an angel in the dream to flee to Egypt. That's why I'm not sure that people "just see Jesus" or an angel in a dream. I would think that if God were speaking to you in a dream, it would have a very specific purpose.

I tend to believe that since we have the Holy Spirit now, dreams are used less. Dreams are just so fickle that it'd have to be pretty clear, and even then sometimes the mind is very weird when it's in that unconscious state.

If God gave dreams that have no meaning evident to you in the dream itself.
What would be the purpose?

The bible tells us more than a few times to guard our minds, gird our minds, renew
our minds, that our life issues come from our minds. That keeping them is our worship.
To take every thought captive, and pull down imaginations.

So is God really going to give us dreams that contradict His commands? and we are
to go off trying to imagine things? worst yet try to find meanings from strangers?
That is what was forbidden in the OT. Some were stoned for it.

maggie, really .[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif]wheredo you get off telling someone else Jesus appeared to them in theirdream [/FONT][FONT=Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif]Interpretations belong to the Lord, yet He, throughout history, has given interpretations to men who have sought Him out for them:
[/FONT]
  • Genesis 40:8Then they said to him, “We have had a dream and there is no one to interpret it.” Then Joseph said to them, “Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell it to me, please.”
  • Daniel 5:16But I personally have heard about you, that you are able to give interpretations and solve difficult problems. Now if you are able to read the inscription and make its interpretation known to me, you will be clothed with purple and wear a necklace of gold around your neck, and you will have authority as the thirdruler in the kingdom.”
[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif] [/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif]youbetter be careful [/FONT][FONT=Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif]Commonly, when there is a man in a dream that one does not recognize, it is the Lord...no one knows His physical facial features; when it is a woman, it represents the holy Spirit.
[/FONT]Yes, it is prudent to 'be careful'. If an interpretation does not resonate with the dreamer, it is simply disregarded. Not a big deal.
[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif]withoutsaying too much more....picture scenarios where someone you have toldis getting messages from God (which you just apparently have instantinterpretations for) dreams a dream(s) that suggests that person dosomething bad. [/FONT][FONT=Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif]Well, duh, if the dream was telling him to do something bad and he THOUGHT it was from GOD, then he would be deceived because God does not give instructions to DISOBEY His written word. Pretty simple to figure out that type of dream.[/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif]ithappens every day because people start thinking God is speaking tothem directly - and some people keep encouraging this.[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif]you'reso brazen with this stuff maggie.[/FONT][FONT=Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif]Brazen? really? How about confident in what I've learned? Here's the thing: an interpretation will either resonate as truth with a dreamer or it won't. Do I get the ALL right? No, I am human and do, on occassion, error. But I have a very good record for correct interpretations[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif]imarvel at your lack of fear of God. [/FONT][FONT=Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif] Your lack of knowledge and spiritual understanding is showing. Lack of fear? How about a great reverence to the point doing the interpretations so that people will have a more clear picture of the God that loves them and have a better understanding of what He is telling them while they sleep. If you have not studied dreams and Biblical...BIBICAL interpretation, do not sit back and judge what you do not understand. [/FONT][FONT=Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif][/FONT]

This dream was more of a 'visitation' from the angel of the Lord showing you that you would be involved in a shaking of your spiritual atmosphere. You see that you need not fear for He will lead. You do not need to see where you are going. The question is, "Will you follow?" The 'dream' is to cause you to seek the Lord so as to be ready to go where He desires to lead you.l

Ask the Lord for dreams. Ask for understanding.

Maggie!

None of that is from instruction of the bible. That is nothing more than putting together excuses then finding scripture
to closely relate then make up a doctrine.

Show me in the bible that a woman is the Holyspirit or any instructions on dreams or dream interpretations
its simply pagan period.

Maggie you claim spiritual understanding, but you simply took classes from pagan teachers that
brought in pagan knowledge and you were suckered into it for your own pride(thats a guess i dont know your heart)

Tell us Maggie where? did you learn your "craft". Online?

Also your interpretation said not a thing. We all know to follow Jesus. But not outwardly which is your direction.
The Lord leads providentially. You said to seek dreams, your misleading people. Seek the Lord.
We walk by faith and not by site. Looking at things not seen. Not seeking signs which is wicked and perverse.

God talks to everyone in different ways but some people he will choose to speak to through dreams.. more than we think actually. It's pretty easy to discern a dream from God then just you're mind filtering.

Craft? That is typical of those not baptized in the Holy Spirit. I studied under seasoned men and women of God. There will always be those that cry 'occult' because they lack understanding.

The people I have studied under have more than 30 years of the studying of Biblical dreams and their interpretation. How much do you have??

Of coarse you had to study under people thats how you learn a craft.
Because you wouldnt have learned it from scripture.

And of coarse people would cry "occult" thats what it is.

And of coarse your gona get mad and say your opposition are without the Spirit. So common!

Actually i know more about the occult than you do. Thats why im not in it.

I think that a mind as quiet as it is in sleep can be receptive to hearing the Lord's ways
I truly believe this. It happened to me last week, as it happens. Happy to share details by email if anyone is interested :)

God can often uses dreams to speak to us, because when you're asleep your conscious mind cannot fight God’s message. When you’re asleep you’re vulnerable, you lose control of your life, and God has it. This is when God can really speak to you. It definitely makes sense to me :)

My regular dreams are usually forgotten when I wake up but the one from God is always remembered :)
