Because creation is now broken and mankind is broken. The standards you mentioned might have been possible in the Garden, but we messed that up and now have to live in a broken world.
So we use money because we're broken?

Even if you gave the poor and starving money their governments would take it away from them, so there's the other part of that problem
Governments derive their power from the consent of the governed. We allow these things to happen.

As usual, no one REALLY cares for the kingdom of heaven on earth, just talking about what it would be like.

We have to use money because we live in a broken world and that is what it predominately requires we use to survive.

And why is the world broken? Because we broke it in the garden.

Money is imaginary. It is only needed because we believe and accept it to be. The garden is in the mind. Now if I had something you want, I can either give it to you or demand something in return. It is a choice.

OK.....
You can talk all day about whether it should or should not exist, or whether we should or should not use it.

Fact is, there is nothing in Scripture (at least to my knowledge) that says it's "imaginary" or only needed because we "believe it to be". Scripture talks about, talks about using it, and talks about the benefits of using it.

Anything else is just speculation.

You don't have to. You just have to convince people to trade with you using something else.
Bartering will produce the same results. The problem is not money, it is human nature...

1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

It is greed and avarice that are the problem. The same line of mistaken thinking engenders gun control. If we can do away with guns, murder will cease.

Gen 4:8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

And guns were still 5500 years into the future. Here is the real problem...

Jer 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

25But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer,
but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

26If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue,
but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

27Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this,

To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

What we need is the Kingdom of God...

Isa 2:2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
Isa 2:3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
Isa 2:4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

Isa 11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
Isa 11:2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
Isa 11:3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
Isa 11:4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
Isa 11:5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
Isa 11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
Isa 11:7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
Isa 11:8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
Isa 11:9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
Isa 11:10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

This is why the first thing we are instructed to ask for in our daily prayers is...

Mat 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Mat 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

because God's will is not being done on earth today and will not until Christ returns and establishes the Kingdom.

God set up the rulers that are in power, and we must obey them in all righteousness, as they stay within the limitation of their God given power; money is part of the Law of the Land, so we use it, righteously. The Bible has always allowed money and based life on God's laws. This thread is a big Joke, child's play, playing with fire, you will get burned if you keep up this "tom foolery". but, I got a good laugh reading it. And others have given good answers. So what if the USA dollar is worthless, in that it is not based on gold, but it is so much better than king Davids day with no "paper" money. Gold is too heavy. LOL. It is illegal to print your own money for public use, so just keep it for Monopoly. LOL, Love to all, Hoffco

Who gives money its authority and power? God or man?
Deu 8:18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

I will not deny this, but look what we've done with it. 18 million homes are empty and only 3 million homeless! Are we treating the poor like we're supposed to? This is why we will soon be punished.

But you would let other men print money out of thin air though? What will be the difference between me and them if it's the same PAPER? And who are we to be obedient to? I don't recommend disobedience. I want change! Government gets its power from THE CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED. That means that the world is this way because we love it so!

Then why fight against God? Let His will be done here too. Money has nothing to do with God. It's only the adult version of Santa Claus. Moshe believe!

No other animal on the planet uses money or similar methods to feed themselves but us, but sonehow we still think we can improve upon free!

Flaming,
The storehouse is empty for most. Famine comes and they lay up treasures that will have no value. They say that God shall save them, yet ignore his instruction. They neither store up in the time of plenty nor do they know what the storehouse is or is for. The wolves have taken the manna of God to live lavishly and the sheep are deceived to think that it is the will of God. Even Egypt in the time of Joseph understood the wisdom of the storehouse.

Isaiah 2

6*Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.

7*Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots:

8*Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:

9*And the mean man boweth down, and the great man humbleth himself: therefore forgive them not.

10*Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the*Lord, and for the glory of his majesty.

11*The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and theLord*alone shall be exalted in that day.

12*For the day of the*Lord*of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:

Deuteronomy 4

*I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.

27*And the*Lord*shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the*Lord*shall lead you.

28*And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell. (MONEY)

29*But if from thence thou shalt seek the*Lord*thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

30*When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the*Lord*thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;

31*(For the*Lord*thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them. Because creation is now broken and mankind is broken. The standards you mentioned might have been possible in the Garden, but we messed that up and now have to live in a broken world.
I believe God has a greater plan then what we see in terms of human depravity and that plan involves the greatness of His redemption. How would man know of God's redemption without the consequences of depravity and sin. This is why we are to go into all the world and preach of this redemption we can have through the blood of Christ. As believers we are to live and have hope with the following understanding and expectation.

Rom 8:16-25

16 The Spirit Himself [thus] testifies together with our own spirit, [assuring us] that we are children of God.
17 And if we are [His] children, then we are [His] heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ [sharing His inheritance with Him]; only we must share His suffering if we are to share His glory.
18 [But what of that?] For I consider that the sufferings of this present time (this present life) are not worth being compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us and for us and conferred on us!
19 For [even the whole] creation (all nature) waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God’s sons to be made known [waits for the revealing, the disclosing of their sonship].
20 For the creation (nature) was subjected to [i]frailty (to futility, condemned to frustration), not because of some intentional fault on its part, but by the will of Him Who so subjected it—[yet] with the hope
21 That nature (creation) itself will be set free from its bondage to decay andcorruption [and gain an entrance] into the glorious freedom of God’s children.
22 We know that the whole creation [of irrational creatures] has been moaning together in the pains of labor until now.
23 And not only the creation, but we ourselves too, who have and enjoy the firstfruits of the [Holy] Spirit [a foretaste of the blissful things to come] groan inwardly as we wait for the redemption of our bodies [from sensuality and the grave, which will reveal] our adoption (our manifestation as God’s sons).
24 For in [this] hope we were saved. But hope [the object of] which is seen is not hope. For how can one hope for what he already sees?
25 But if we hope for what is still unseen by us, we wait for it with patience and composure.

Money isn't the issue. It's man's heart that is the issue.

27*And the*Lord*shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the*Lord*shall lead you.

28*And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell. (MONEY)

Isaiah 2 isn't dealing with money. It's being used as an indicator that His people are walking in disobedience to God.

I disagree that Deuteronomy 4 is dealing with money. It's clearly dealing with physical idols.

If we had no money, no one will starve or be homeless. No one would steal if all things were free. Money is a lifeless piece of paper. Why make it an idol any longer?
You do not understand that the problem is not money, the problem is that human beings are under the influence of a powerful, deluding, evil spirit and are doing what he inspires them to do. Human nature is really the result of the Devil influencing people. Money is not the issue, the issue is this...

1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

The violation of the tenth Commandment.
