The Kingdom of God arrived with the King...did not Jesus say that it was within you and not observable in it's coming!
"for behold the kingdom of God is in the MIDST of you." Luke 17:21 You must have been using a poor translation.

The word "midst" is used often, (more than 200 times) in the bible, it doesn't mean inside of a person.

examples: in the midst of the feast________sitting in the midst of the doctors___the ship was in the midst of the sea

A person can live in a country or a kingdom, but a country/kingdom doesn't live inside a person.

Whoever humbles himself will be exalted, and whoever exalts himself will be humbled. While on earth Jesus humbled himself, he was soon exalted as king.

The Kingdom of God is "now and not yet!"

Jesus us came and inaugurated the Kingdom at his incarnation.

We will experience the Kingdom in its fullness when Jesus returns at the Second Coming.

I can provide scriptures, but not right now as I am very exhausted after going back to chaplaincy since I fell on the ice and hurt my knees. A very rewarding day, though.

Keep the thread going, or someone else can explain the theology of this.

See post #17 on page one. The kingdom arrived when Jesus drank the vinegar just before his last breath. He reigns.

Jesus also said in Matt 21:43, "Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people, producing the fruit of it. Maybe it was more of a transfer and restructure.
That was the rejection of unbelieving Israel as God's people, in whose hearts Jesus rules and reigns,
and the inclusion of believing Gentiles as God's people, in whose hearts Jesus rules and reigns.

The kingdom couldn't have begun "when Jesus was born" because Jesus was at the beginning of time, as it says in the first verse of John. The Old Testament is absolutely filled with Jesus, even each referral to blood is referring to the blood of Jesus to come.

I don't think we can live our material life perfectly in the kingdom. Can't you just see a thread titled What is most within the Kingdom, Toyota or Lexus? If we could know what God wants us to do every minute we wouldn't be in our human bodies. We would have perfect understanding of all of God and we don't. What I meant to convey was people putting their understanding of God's plan for them first, even in everything they do everyday.

I don't think scripture tells us the Kingdom is Christ, either. Christ is salvation, through Christ we have the Holy Spirit, there are many things that Christ is. We need Christ to live within the kingdom. We are NOT to add our reasoning to God's word, and God's word does not lead to an understanding that Christ is the beginning or the entire explanation of the kingdom.

And by the way, what is closer to God, Toyota or Lexus? (Surely!! you know I am kidding)
LOL. Well, I understand both the Toyota and the Lexus and the only thing separating those two is a name and some exterior faculties. Go for the Toyota would be my humble decision. But what if I only had a Lexus at my disposal then? Oh well. I won't complain about the plastic seat belt covers falling off.

That being said, Jesus was indeed born, of a virgin. The Son, the Word, God who was in Jesus in the flesh, is I AM indeed. I think you understand what I mean when I say that Jesus was born indeed. And that the King was born in the flesh. That was my intent, and that is what the Lord has told us.

Have a good day sir. :)

Brother Dcon, not bad for an old reprobate! ;)

You are of course, correct. The spiritual kingdom is the kingdom of God. Those of you hoping for Christ to turn back into a man and rule a physical piece of dirt and a bunch of flesh are going to be sorely dissappointed. When Christ brought the gospel to us is when we were able to worship Him "in spirit and in truth". That is God's kingdom. Just because He owns the south forty doesn't mean He is going to live there. I want to go where He is. That is where Christ has prepared a place for me, not here on earth.

Where is Jesus Now? Is he not seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty? Will he not come; will he not once again leave his heavenly habitation and reveal himself to this age? Shall darkness overcome? Shall the evil one reign in his place?
God is not moved by the rantings of the wicked, they are like the grass that witheres and vanishes.

Christ has died ! Christ is risen ! Christ will come again !!!!

Praise be to God.

So you totally discount the quotes of Jesus in the OP? All of them?
Help me understand this...

Luk 19:12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.

Dan 2:43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
Dan 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

Act 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

How could the above statement possibly be true?

At His return. Oh wait, it has not happened yet.
John831, So Jesus said to the Jews who HAD BELIEVED in him, "If you abide in my word, you are my disciples."

John 8:32, "and you will know the truth and the truth will set you free."
