I encourage us all to spread the truth and the gospel with abandon and I applaud all who do. The main issue though is sometimes we become so consumed in spreading the truth and become so zealous that we sometimes lose focus and come on a bit to strong. For instance I know this person who is very zealous in spreading what he believes to be truth, he is a pastor and is very famous on youtube. However even though he started with good intentions and at first was doing a great job at spreading the good news he became a bit to closed minded and to zealous and when he was wrong about something which seems to be happening more and more he doesn't own up to it but instead gets offended and rebukes you in Jesus name.

Zeal- this is an amazing thing in a Christian, but we also have to keep our zeal under control or else we will say and do things we later regret and I know from personal experience. Not to mention that when we are trying to spread the gospel and teach the truth we must be extremely cautious of what we allow into our minds. I have also seen a pastor I once knew, he was an amazing Christian and was very Christ focused but he and I started study on bible prophecy, we were very into it but I saw that it was overtaking my thoughts and began to take over my prayers as well so I stopped but my friend continued to let it consume him. And now he has lost focus and instead of seeking the lord with all his heart all he thinks about and talks about is bible prophecy, he see's signs that aren't there and makes predictions that fail.

Another thing is that sometimes the truth is our truth not God's. it doesn't take much to fool us, a simple misinterpretation of a single scripture is all it takes to lead us to our truth not God's. This is a huge issue amongst Christians, many leave absolutely no room for learning and are stead fast in their interpretation or beliefs. many also who have either been a Christian for a long time or have a position of authority believe that they are right about most things. However just because you have been saved for years does not mean you are always right and can't be taught from a babe in Christ. Just because you are say a pastor or minister doesn't mean that you know the correct belief or view of things, granted you may have a better chance of knowing but pride is very easy to obtain and then we lose focus.

When Jesus came to begin his ministry He taught and showed the truth but even though he had many followers the Pharisees who were taught men and the authority of the law saw themselves as the ones who knew the truth and that Jesus was a liar and blasphemer. They knew the scriptures better than anyone else but their pride had blinded them to the fact that Jesus was prophesied in the old scrolls and had their pride and anger not been in their hearts since they knew the scriptures so well they would have recognized their king when they saw him.

Studying scripture seems to be a very tricky thing these days. we all claim to have the holy spirit teaching us the meaning of scriptures and yet for every scripture there are at least 5 different interpretations. God showed this to me and I asked him if this is so then how on earth will I ever know the right interpretation? The answer was not what I expected, honestly I expected him to say he would show me the truth or give me the eyes to see but instead he taught me to seek love on a much deeper level always and everything else will fall into place. I then understood that love is the key element. Love is what give's us the right eyes, the right heart, the right mind and if we are so deep in love then we can read the scriptures and actually understand the true meaning not any interpretation.

Truth is only the Word of God (scripture). And it should be spoken just as it is. Leave it up to the Holy Spirit to give the understanding.
Most of it is pretty simple. Because truth usually is. It is people who complicate it.

So, I would say to keep your zeal for the Word of God - study and speak it. It is:

The Sword of the Spirit
Unfolding to give us light
The seed
Will not return to God void
Is living and active.
Is spirit and life.
Like fire and a hammer
In which is life - from which all things came into being.
The Word is God.

Where love comes in is how we speak it. And how it originated from the love in God's heart for us.

Gossip means to spread information about someone or thing; but some gossip is the truth and some are lies, but God wants to spread the truth about everything since the beginning. And so I believe that the word Gossip had derived from the word Gospel, but since everyone isn't use to spreading the truth, that they had gotten use of the meaning of the word gossip as spreading false information, and which that is why Pilate' had said,"what is truth"..

A babe in Christ should not be going around trying to correct pastors and ministers.

A babe in Christ should be STUDYING THE SCRIPTURE.

When you've studied the scripture more, then you're no longer a babe in Christ.

Seriously... what adult would let a little baby correct them?
A little baby hardly knows what it's doing.
When the baby grows into maturity... THEN it may have something to teach others.

Angela, this thread could orientate itself towards Saint Paul, the greatest missionary of all times. The man who was extremely devoted to God and established a lot of christian churches. A man who was both zealous and equilibrated. A man who was both kind and authoritaire, a man who regarded the Christians as his own children. A man who lived entirely for Jesus Christ.

Sometimes its love to give the people what they seek, just a suggestion Blain but perhaps add a scripture verse for those who are starving for the word?

this one comes to mind:
1 Corinthians 13
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.

Love you bro, as always you are in my prayers.

Hope your work with nonbelievers is going well.

Blain, this scares me. It is only the Holy Spirit that gives us the right eyes, heart, mind. And it is not our reading the scriptures in deep love that brings us understanding. Once again, it is the Holy Spirit who does this. It is our total dependency on Him, not our ability to love.

Isaiah 11:2 The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.

????

If the Holy Spirit told him to seek a deeper love and that love would help him understand scripture correctly, I don't understand why anyone would be afraid for him.

I believe seeking a deeper love is Biblical and the goal of becoming a mature Christian. To learn a deeper love, to learn to love as God does and not as the world, is what is spoken of in 2 peter 1 v. 5-9

We add to our faith: virtue, knowledge, self control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness and ultimately LOVE.

If we just get stuck in the seeking knowledge stage and don't try to learn self control and perseverance unto godliness we will remain carnal people. If we do not move beyond godliness to brotherly kindness and love, then we will remain self-absorbed self righteous clanging brass cymbals.

Yes Blain could quote a few more scriptures, but I do find it interesting that those who are doing the rebuking don't offer any scriptures to make up for the lack.

It kind of makes me sad. I'm going to go pray now.

Angela I already told you that I won't use scripture like others do, If I pour out my heart and God tells me to post a certain scripture I will without any hesitation but when I was making this no scripture was placed in my heart and I won't post scripture just because you think I should. Do you recall the apostles saying we must listen to God not man? Well if God tells me to post a certain scripture I will but I won't do it just for your satisfaction.

You said: "Love is what give's us the right eyes, the right heart, the right mind and if we are so deep in love then we can read the scriptures and actually understand the true meaning not any interpretation."

But sometimes you say things that contradict scripture and we need to know where you are coming from. Like the above quote is not truth.
Truth is that the Holy Spirit is the ONLY source of our wisdom and spiritual understanding.

Isaiah 11:2 The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.[/QUOTE]

I am not against the value of loving God and others - but even godly love is a fruit of the Holy Spirit and manifested as we abide in Christ and His word.

It's just not about us.

Yes your absolutely right. I've just recently received a deeper understanding of love. And it came soon after i asked myself " do i really know Who Jesus is ?" As i found out thinking over this question for a few days... I realized i wasn't walking with Him and following His teachings as closely as i should. I was saved when I was 13...but we need to be saved every minute of the day! Paul calls it to pray without ceasing, and now I know the secret to understanding all things in life is through Love. Everything must be done in love.... And Love can only be found through Jesus Christ.
