It occurs to me that if you actually believe Neanderthals were the product of humans crossed with demons, then your leading Christian geneticist, Francis Collins, should be able to sort out the human DNA from the demon DNA? It should be possible to work out the exact DNA of demons. Maybe it should even be possible to subdivide them into different species? Conservative Christians – or is it better to say evangelicals – seem to believe that demons are fallen angels and that there are different orders, or classes, or species, of angels. DNA studies should make it possible to sort this all out? Yes? Angels and demons must possess DNA, otherwise how could they even breed with humans? How else could you claim that the corrupted DNA belongs to demons?

Then of course we have to wonder if God has DNA? It may be that the ancient Jews imagined God as somewhat more anthropomorphic than Christians do today. How else could he fertilize half of Mary’s ovum? Did he make some DNA especially for the immaculate conception and if so what did he base it upon? If he is spirit then this is a problem we need to sort out, but it wasn’t likely a problem for the biblical writers, who simply could not have even formulated such questions.

The gods/angels/demons of old took women as mates. The Bible says so. These beings must have possessed DNA. Mind you, Canaanite myth says that the Tree of Life was responsible for the god’s immortality, so perhaps they were human-like but had the good fortune to have a better, more magical, diet. Angels, are they spirit? Demons, are they spirit. You are postulating that Neanderthals are demon/human hybrids. That means demons have DNA. You’ve opened quite a can of worms with this suggestion, have you not? How are you going to sort it all out?
I have no clue who Francis Collins is...

and to say any could work out what demon dna is, (and I never said demon, I said corrupt BTW) I dont see that as a guaranteed idea, because the top genetic scientist in the world are realizing that DNA is so far more complex than what they even realize, epi-genetics are much more diverse than DNA was previously thought. Again I never said it was "demon" DNA but simply corrupted, it could be demon DNA but that is not literally stated, I honestly think it was more genetic manipulation, hence corrupt DNA.... corrupt from it original intent. Which bulletproof spider goat skin would IMO fall into this category.... Now muc of what you say is not only not written but not provable at any current time, yay or nay... There may be people who claim and believe these things but that in itself does not make them fact or Scriptural doctrine. Hindus believe the earth is on the back of a turtle... we can prove that is not true, and while up until some hundreds of years ago humans thought that world was flat, yet the Scriptures says the earth is a circle. So I think Scripture needs to be seperated from what people say, and that should be studied out and confirmed or denied, if something is not true, its not true. No matter who wants to believe or not want to believe. So im trying to say we cant apply what people think as doctrine.

Okay, so you were being polite with Agricola. Perhaps you are not quite ready to rule out human/demon hybrids, but you are not quite prepared to believe them either.
I want truth, I dont care if it is comfortable or terrifying, I want truth! :)

You’ve opened quite a can of worms with this suggestion, have you not? How are you going to sort it all out?
If it would expose lies and show truth, I would open a barrel of worms!

I want to add, there is a part of the brain that controls primitive instincts, or even predatory instincts, humans need this to protect themselves and others, and also hunt/forage etc.... Possibly the DNA corruption could "enhance" this among other things? Just a idea....

There is an extended, detailed, somewhat technical article on "Nephilim" in the Lexham Bible Dictionary. The Lexham Bible Dictionary is available free with a free account from Logos Bible Software. FYI, I am a customer but have no other affiliation with Logos Bible Software. Mention is not a full endorsement. Link: Lexham Bible Dictionary

Except is shown below. The full article is much longer.

NEPHILIM (נְפִלִים, nephilim). Either giants or semi-divine beings who appear during the pre-flood era (Gen 6:4a) and prior to the conquest period (Num 13:33).

Introduction
The identification of the Nephilim is debated. The term “Nephilim,” likely derived from the Hebrew verb נָפַל (naphal, “to fall”), appears to be an eponym for a class of renowned warrior-like people who fell in battle. Later Greek interpreters identified the Nephilim as semi-divine “giants” (γιγαντες, gigantes) that arose from the union of the “sons of God” and the “daughters of men” (Gen 6:1–4). The identification of Nephilim in Genesis is difficult to discern. However, the Nephilim in Numbers are directly linked to the giant race of the Anakim, and by extension the Rephaim, Emim, and Zamzummim (Deut 2:10–11, 20). This connection likely paved the way for the Septuagint (LXX) translators’ interpretation of Nephilim as giants. The Greek LXX, Intertestamental, and New Testament writers, rabbinic exegetes, and historians have all influenced understanding of the Nephilim.

Etymology
The designation “Nephilim” is a transliteration of the Hebrew word into English—it is not a translation....

There is a giant described in the Bible who had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot.

And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant. (2 Samuel 21:20)

Extra digits still happen today.

IMO this was a big hint:

(naphal, “to fall”)

Revelation 12:4 "His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she bore her child he might devour it."

I have no clue who Francis Collins is....
He is a self-proclaimed evangelical Christian and is the American geneticist who headed of the Human Genome Project. He asserts God guided evolution, but holds the view that all life arose from a common ancestor. He is author of the best selling book, The Language of God, which I read a few years ago. I was keenly interested in what he had to say on genetics but found his religious arguments very weak. He is a great promoter of the writings of C.S. Lewis. Below is s short interview about the content of his book.

It runs in families and is found frequently among the Amish of Pennsylvania. I never knew it received mention in scripture. Interesting.

So listen to that vid and im listening to one of his speeches now.

This guy is intelligent and open so I respect that, but two things I question right away. (btw im big into studying the "foundation" of everything I look into) One I question C.S. Lewis motives so that is to me a red flag but the bigger one is he believes in evolution or believes against intelligent design, or in his words theistic evolution. Now this is what I used to believe but after my studies, I dont know everything, but I think not only is this scientifically unlikely but if one believes the Scriptures they would believe Strength aka YHWH created man, and thus theistic evolution in its true sense would be impossible, that is IF one believes the Scriptures, hinging on if they are true, I believe they are.. So from the jump im questioning him, his doctrine doesnt quite add up, dosent mean I wont look into it, but the theistic evolution thing is very big among masons, not giving guilt by association just saying there is similarities.

I stand with you on that.

I do think the whole notion that there are demon/human hybrids implies demons possess DNA. That means they are physical beings, but I think most Christians, instead, view them as spiritual beings. That should rule out the existence of hybrids, I would think. I don't know how you can have a spiritual being that possesses DNA. What do you think?

Hey I want to say I like you, because I feel your real.

So I do think it is possible for a spiritual being/shining one to possess DNA, take a little ride with me for a sec.

Starting from the point that Yah did create everything.

........

Think about it, this creation, everything that we see as amazing, out there, advanced science, etc, would if intelligent design, would be organically built into the creation. To a level that is so far beyond our current ability to comprehend that again things that seem impossible to us could be built into the creation. (this is a ideal that I have had for a awhile) So considering that, I do think it possible that spiritual beings could have DNA, I do think it more likely that its genetic manipulation but I can see either way being possible, as I think in His image..... They do seem to have free will, 33% of them chose to follow "satan" and I even think they have their own personalities, I say this from what I think is evidence, but I have no what could be consider real proof. There is so much on this topic I..... man if we could sit side by side and talk about this I could go for hours.... but to sum it up, I think the creation is so "simply organic" (as everything being built into the creation for it foundation) and at the same time complex beyond our understanding that if we knew the truth or more of the truth concerning these matters so so many things in our lives would instantly make sense.... while at the same time being majestic... IDK if im getting my point across but yes I do think it is possible, and I think our understanding of these beings is so far lacking that we would "face palm" at our silliness because it was all there the whole time. (and I dont mean atheists, I mean all humans)

I've listened to a number of his talks. I find him very interesting, but in terms of form criticism he seems to be poorly informed. His understanding of Christianity, in The Language of God, struck me as naive.

Hizikyah said:

I'm particularly interested in examining the foundation of Christianity.

In his book he presents a very solid case for evolution.

One of the C.S. Lewis books that influenced him is Mere Christianity. I've never read it. I did read The Screwtape Letters, however, after listening to an hour discussion of the book presented on CBC Radio One. The discussion intrigued me, but I found the book a great disappointment.

The nephilim are a pretty hot topic today. Do any of you think we may still have giants walking around today?
No. The Giants were eliminated from playoff contention because of their poor won / loss record. It could be time for a new head coach.

Nephillim = the fallen messengers (fallen shining ones/fallen nacash/the watchers/Archons)

raphaim = the giants/"descendants" of the fallen messengers

There are some people in the earth that claim they are these "descendants" and that gives them the right to "rule" over mankind....

ohh and uhh, wake up.
i always thought sons of the nobles - fallen ones, fell from heaven

Nephillim - were the offspring

the spy report in numbers said they saw the nephilim in the land of canaan and they were refering to the sons of anok, therefore the offspring.
i get it mixed up alot.

Possibly, because the meaning of the word nephillim, I assumed it was the fall ones, to fall. But now that you mention it is there a verse that calls goliah a nephillim, seems I remember there being one, but I can only find him called rapahim, been a while since I studied this,

so little info, but I always seen the nephillim as the "fallen ones" the stars that fell from heaven? and the gibborim/raphaim as the "descendants"

If im missing something IM open to listen.

Many believe in what is called the Pre Adamic Kingdom. This theory is interesting and possibly has some merit , hard to say, However it isn’t going to make or break one;s salvation due to subscribing to it or not,
Finis Jennings Dake (1902–1987) who’s reference bible ;The Dake’s annotated Referewnce Bible is still in print and explains his views on this, Some have labeled this bible” Dake’s Mistake’ which I feel is sad as there is a wealth of knowledge in it regardleass . What may be a shock to some is that Cyrus Ingerson Scofield (August 19, 1843 – July 24, 1921) Who’s Bible is a mainstay in christian circles has been said to have also felt there is merit to the pre adamic kingdom. It is an interesting study in any case, Is it true? Dunno but we will know someday Does it knock scripture as we know it ? I don’t think it does. There are many questions concerning God’s word that we will never really ger total answer on in this lifetime, These questions can, however, be use dby the enemy to create divisions which is sad, It all comes down to majoring in the minors in a sense and even though it is interesting it has little to do with the great comission we have all been given to tell the world about Jesus.
Hey friend, I do not know if you know it or not, butThe Pre Adamic Kingdom doctrine is rooted and grounded in the Thomas Chalmers GAP Creation Theory and is false. The Bible completely refutes GAP theory in Exodus 20.11

Dake loved using Psalm 104 and Jeremiah 4 as a basis for 2 floods and pinned his hat to Chalmers doctrine. Rumors suggest strongly Dake recanted most of his stuff before he died to get right and get to heaven.

In the septuigint the nephillim are called the archons? If that is so I *think* that supports this?

If im missing something IM open to listen.

1 Enoch 6:1-2 “And it came to pass when the children of men had multiplied that in those days were born unto them beautiful and comely daughters. And the angels, the children of the heaven, saw and lusted after them, and said to one another: ‘Come, let us choose us wives from among the children of men and beget us children.’”

Jubilees 5:1 , “And it came to pass when the children of men began to multiply on the face of the earth and daughters were born unto them, that the angels of God saw them on a certain year of this jubilee, that t hey were beautiful to look upon; and they took themselves wives of all whom they chose, and they bare unto them sons and they were giants.”

Israel failed in this. The giants were finally utterly destroyed by the four kings under Chedorlaomer.
Care to explain how David and killed Goliath, which was after Chedorlaomer?

one could go back and forth on trying to decypher the exact meaning but i think we both are in agreement on our understanding of the 2.
1) fallen ones/fallen from the sky/fallen from the heavens.

2) offspring/ hybrid/giants.

the 2nd is the subject of the post.
