Some says that Iraq was once Babylon, but when Persia had taken over, most likely they had changed the name of the land, like the how Rome had given part of Israel to a certain people and named it Palestine which some believe that the name was referring to Philistine to insult the Jews or the Roman has given back the land which they believed that the Israelites had taken it away from the Philistine unlawfully in history.

Babylon has never been rebuilt. Saddam Hussein tried it and got killed. The Antichrist will rebuild it, but Babylon is a symbol of man. I meant they said come let us make brick when God built with stone it is a metaphor of the rejection of God, which is what America is doing today. So America could be Babylon and any nation that rejects God.

This is from a passage in the Revelation that speaks about Babylon:

Revelation 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city (Babylon), which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
I get from these names that Babylon is any place where people hate God and His ways, wherever Love is being murdered. God is not concerned so much with the physical location as the verse shows - it is all of the same effect to Him. My 50 cents

Speaking of America, I'll not post it here, as it's a long video, and I don't know if that's bad for CC bandwidth? But there's a video by the late Richard Coombes, a lengthy lecture on America being the daughter of Babylon that will pretty much flip some brain cells, if you've never seen it. It goes by the name "prophecy club america the babylon speaker rick coombes full length" on YouTube.

But all the empires of the world are Babylon, in the sense of rising out of a Nimrod-ish, man centric world system, with focus on carnal power that is not of God, even of prominent idol deities they've built all kinds of statues and temples to.

Babylon of old, was a empire of the Chadians ( I think that word fits ) , or Babylonaionas . It was located in Iraq of today, and its old city ; still remains to this day.Saddam Hussein , while he was in power, even restored a large part of it.

The Babylon of the future, will be all the world. Not one location. It is representative, of all confusion, at the last days, when Satan ( the king of Babylon, of who Nebuchadnezzar was a type of ) is here playing false Christ, and all the world whores after him ; that ashamedly includes Christians.

That is why she's called the harlot , she was meant to be Christ's bride , instead she fell off to idolatry to a fake. It's fake religion, with Satan as its Savior .. That whole sorry affair that will take place, as Christ taught, will happen in the not too distance future, and all the worlds Christians will fall into that apostasy who have not bothered to study God's words...

Just keep in mind no matter how bad we get, if we keep preaching the Gospel and supporting it with our wallets and keep supporting Israel, we will do okay. I don't think America is THE BABYLON so to speak. But maybe after the rapture as the church is gone and the above no longer happens.

My comments

The "antichrist" will not re-build ancient Babylon .... no one will

Revelation's presentation of the "great city" part of Mystery Babylon is a very different matter

This "woman" is the great city of the Gentiles with a global presence and Satan's beast in the human little horn [king] of Daniel's visions [this is the "antichrist"] and His 10 kings of the Middle East will destroy the "great city" in one day .... never to rise again [Daniel 7:7-25; Revelation 14:8; 17:8-18; 18:1-21]

There is only one nation that could fit the "great city" [civilization] on the earth today .... the USA

Depends upon where we are on the Lord's schedule .... things can change over time

Some say "Babylon is, Ancient Pagan Rome & NERO!" The Rome of Paul and Peter and the feeding of Christians to the lions!"

The ancient religion of the Tower of Babel. Nimrod died, his mother semeramus (Not right spelling) declared him a God. Built statue/idol. Later Constantine turned pagan Grecian statues into saints. All these false gods stemmed from Babylon. So the Catholic Church is born. Much of the hoo doo and voodoo of the mysteries of Babylon were incorporated into the popish system.

Martin Luther breaks free from Romanism but does not drop all things pagan, mainly the clerical/laity system and religious titles which have been handed down to us. As well as the wafer and thimble full of Welches. The communion of the first century were love feasts, banquets. Think: last supper. It was a, wait for it....a supper.

So pagan mystery Babylon permeates so much of what we deem as 'church' today. But the good news is God is opening up the eyes of His own though many sleep on.

What is that old saying 'I looked for the enemy and found that it was us'?

The Lord's revealing of His view of a lost world and the desire to govern themselves without His providence is the issue

Man made religions are just a part of this rebellion

Revelation's description of MBG in chapter 18 is much more .... the distraction of self centered commercialism and material gain along with all of the evils involved with the idea that humans can continue on in this fashion without end

Self security without the Lord is a delusion and keeps people from reality .... all of their money and stuff will be destroyed

And the human systems designed to support this false security are scheduled to come crashing down .... never to rise again

Nimrod did this thing and so does the world today ..... on a grand scale, just look around

All of the cities of the nations are "look a likes" .... they all are patterned after western capitalism

And there is a "great city" part that is the hub

The Lord will not tolerate this human intransigence against Him and to separate themselves from His providence and direction much longer

All that have ever been killed physically and spiritually have been, are, and will be the victims of this self delusional behavior ..... the "city" is the collection point and hatching of all that humans do that is evil in the sight of the Lord

.... whether Babel or New York

Today the "city" is global, connected, and ripe for judgment

Revelation [8:6-12; 14:8; 16:17-20; 17:16-18; 18:1-21]
