It's actually not the woman's fault. If you study the first three chapters of Genesis (specifically chapt 3), it is very clear. Everyone likes to blame Eve and, don't get me wrong, she was wrong for disobeying and was held accountable for her actions as she should have. But God specifically gave the commandment to Adam (Gen 2:17-18). Grant it, Eve was not created at that particular time, but it was Adam's responsibility to share the command from God, which he did. The interesting part is that nothing happened until Adam ate of the fruit (Gen 3:6-7). Eve had eaten and nothing happened...but after she talked Adam into joining her, it wasn't until he ate of it, that the sin occurred and "their eyes were open" to evil. When God decided to discuss what had happened, he looked for Adam, not Eve (Gen 9:9). Finally, Gen 3:17, really breaks it down: And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;. Eve was wrong for disobeying her husband who shared with her that God told him they are not to eat of that tree (they weren't supposed to touch it either) and woman is punished for it from God (Gen 3:16). Women going through verse 16 is actually what is Eve's fault, but He directly gave that commandant to Adam and it wasn't until he broke it that the sin occurred. Adam tried to blame Eve too, saying this woman you gave me. But God did not agree. The serpent attacked who he thought was the weaker of the two going to Eve to tempt her and that worked, but Adam was not supposed to give in to Eve and eat the fruit. All hell broke loose only after he ate. God does not blame Eve, He clearly places the blame on Adam. But we love them both still the same!
