See this passage:

  • "But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; and it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: and on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: and I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: the sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come: and it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Acts 2.16-21).

Does this means that every person has the Holy Spirit?

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 14:26

1 Thessalonians 4:8

He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.

No. "All flesh" means "all nations" according to the context.

Or that it is not for prophets only as in the OT, but for common people too.

Those who belong to Christ.

Romans 8:9 - "But you are not in the flesh, you are in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Any one who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him."

Galatians 3:[SUP]14 [/SUP]That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.........[SUP]26 [/SUP]For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 1:[SUP]11 [/SUP]In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:[SUP]12 [/SUP]That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. [SUP]13 [/SUP]In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,14Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.[SUP]15 [/SUP]Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,

Romans 8:[SUP]9 [/SUP]But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his......[SUP]15 [/SUP]For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.[SUP]16 [/SUP]The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:[SUP]17 [/SUP]And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Yes, this means that every believer by faith in Jesus Christ is a born again saint that has His seal of adoption.

Just because God "pours" out His Spirit, doesn't mean it's gonna "stick"! Plus, is not good to "assume" that His Spirit, is "all primroses n cookies" either. Tis indeed a "part" of His Spirit, but certainly not all!

The Spirit of God has been poured out but one has to accept Jesus as Savior in order to be personally given the Spirit.

No. Only those who confess Jesus as Lord and believe God raised him from the dead receive the gift of holy spirit (Acts 2:38; Romans 10:9,10) and only those who confess Jesus as Lord have the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ living in them. (Romans 8:9) - that is the new creation created (born) in us to enable us to walk by the Spirit.

When we receive Christ, we were given the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Adoption. The disciples were saved as soon as Jesus fulfilled His resurrection, ushering in the New Covenant.

Then, Jesus tells His disciples to tarry in the upper room until they be endued with power from upon high.

In Acts 2, it happened. Please note these disciples were already saved before they were given the power to perform God's will.

So all christians have the Holy Spirit, but not all have the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

If you are a Christian you will have the Holy Spirit living in you, some "Christians" are not Christians, you have to repent and be born again, sadly, I don't think some know what repentance entails.

But having the Gifts of the Spirit requires obedience and listening to Gods voice.

Really cute how you flipped the terminology here in your brief statement. The Holy Spirit was given to the disciples by Jesus when Jesus breathed the Holy Spirit upon them. They were later filled with the Holy Spirit for power to minister the word of God as seen in Acts.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit unto salvation. Filling of the Holy Spirit to act for Christ. Filling is not baptism and baptism is not filling and the Greek texts support the distinction.

For the cause of Christ

God is the Holy Spirit. Answering the question, "Who has the Holy Spirit?" then, is a difficult one, since the Lord talks to all of us, but I don't know that we really possess him.

"And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him." (Acts 5:32)
