who lied first?

God or the devil. Can you back your claim up? What was the lie?
What would you like to learn? Or is your question rhetorical?
Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good.

Hebrews 6:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

If a person believes in the Almighty God, the Creator of all things through Christ Jesus, then they have faith enough to know whatever God says comes to pass and is always true. There should never be a question in a faith that is real.

It wasn't God...

Tit 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

God cannot lie. That leaves one alternative...

Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

The lie that Satan told is...

Gen 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

What does God say?

Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Yet, man has believed the Devil ever since. Man does not believe that the wages of sin is death, he believes that the wages of sin is life in hell. God says it is death. Whom do most people believe today?

the opening question of the poster is from
the mouth of a serpent.

as it is written, 'the poison of asps is under their tongue.'

there are many wreckers of the True Faith walking about
as a roaring lion, seeking whom they may devour.'
the transparency of their masks just grows
thinner and thinner.

GOD never lies ever. Num 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

satan is the liar and deceiver. Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Gen 2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

notice this is a command from GOD to Adam.

Gen 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

Now why would satan even attempt to have eve go against GOD's authority. Why would satan have eve question what GOD spoke to Adam. Look at the content of what satan said "Did GOD say ye shall not eat of Every tree of the garden. Also notice satan tells eve she will not die but her eyes will be opened and be as gods small g meaning as satan himself who is evil.

Gen 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
Gen 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Now when GOD made Adam he was not to die but because of his disobedience death he shall see.
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Gen 3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

satan's whole scheme was to cause death on mankind.
Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
Adam and eve no longer have access to the Tree of Life

Adam was already created in the image of GOD now notice the twist here from satan their eyes opened to be like gods no longer having the spiritual connection with GOD but as god (satan).

Blessings!!!!!!!

The question is how you take it, do you want to state your idea and see how others, agree or disagree.
