I personally Don't fully trust people's opinions, unless its backed up with God's word. I appreiciate, I will get ot the length to listen, I will respect people opinions, But to trust, I don't again unless God's backing in it.

Now that you mention it, I guess it's not people I trust--it's God I trust. Still, I wanted to make the point that a lot of people demand that we respect their opinions, when they don't make a real effort to obey the Lord's commandments. The theological opinions of such people have little value, it seems to me.

Keep trusting God, you wont go far wrong with his truth, people has opinions, only to there own thoughts, there own theological theories. although some may sound good, some may sound excellent, however, there opinions means nothing to me, unless they have true backing of God's word. and who better to trust more? God, he know's what he is talking about.

I am having a difficult time with the issue of trusting opinions.

I have a dear learned friend who loves the Lord, who studies His word, who has received the Holy Spirit. That is also true of me. Yet we truly think the Lord is telling us something different with His word on some issues.

I know of several people who go to Christ for forgiveness, who study, but express beliefs that are absolutely contrary to God's word. These people, though, are often deep in philosophy of religion more than scripture although they use scripture as a base. Something that is consistent, though, is that they express hate for people who do not agree with them. It is as if Satan is using them by twisting their Christianity.

All scripture is of God and tells us truth, OT and NT, yet Christ made changes. Some say some of the changes made some things God tells us about Himself different at different times. If scripture is always truth, that cannot be. Sometimes, without giving it much study and understanding, it seems as if even Paul contradicts himself, and of course Paul doesn't. But digging this out and finding the truth is not easy, and many people argue about it on and on saying their opinion is the truth.

Anyone who follows cc knows that sometimes people tell us their opinion about something that they back up with a scripture verse or two. We know that their opinion of what it says is wrong, but they come back with that when scripture says so, how could we say it is wrong. Sometimes it would take a whole study course of bible principles to show them how their view of what God is saying does not fit with what bible tells us of who God is, so it has to be wrong. I have watched people try to explain this, and it always ends in everyone thinking their way is right.

So, just going to bible doesn't always work for finding what we can trust. It takes going to God, Himself and using bible to lead us there.

The way I see it, everyone has their own beliefs and opinions. who to trust does not depend on if they believe the same thing as you, because if we do not have a humble and teachable heart how can we allow God to teach us. Can any one person here claim to always be right in what they believe and say? Is not any of us without fault? Scripture says seek first the kingdom of heaven and all else will be given to you. To me this is the same thing as saying if we seek the lords heart above all else and go to HIM first before accepting another belief or doctrine and wait patiently for an answer. He will show us the answer we seek, but this answer may not be what we want to hear.
As long as his will is done in all things and in our hearts, we do not have to fear believing in a wrong kind of belief or doctrine.

In an earlier post on this thread, it was brought to my attention that we need to trust God--not each other. Only God is perfect. But I did want to make the point that, in my opinion, people who don't believe in repentance of sin (obedience to the Lord) don't have credible opinions, when it comes to theology.

I don't know who to trust. Therefore, I drink and go from there. Kinda liike right now. My muscle memory tells me where the keys are, but I think that it's an opened mind that tells me what to type. I thin that means I trust myself more so than anyone else. I'm not wholly sure. Maybe one day I'll hopefully find out.

I like the part about trusting yourself more than anyone else. One really ought to do that. But of course, we need to be constantly listening to the Lord. Otherwise, we can't trust ourselves much, either, don't you think?

It says that the truth wil b revealed. So no imperfect man knows the truth. Every body argues with eachother is just another way the devil distracts us of what's really important.

since the bible in one place calls it the gospel of repentance
how could someone not believe in repentance i wonder.

Ive read reformed position on this...that the gospel of John doesnt contain
repentance but "belief". But my conclusion is that belief has repentance in it.

Anyway i dont put my trust in anyone...As a young believer i did and through
much preaching right from the word i was taught false teachings......I do now
trust some to listen to...and respect them...but we are individually responsible
for what we believe.

Our Father's Word. Spoken to Moses & The Prophets; written and recorded by their scribes, not the Pharises and their scribes.

Both Affirmed & Confirmed by The Same Living Word.

One cannot know, if one has not heard The Prophets, as Christ Messiah IS The Chief Apostle, Prophet, King, Lord, Saviour and Last High Priest of Our Fathers Perfect Plan for ONE and for ALL, established AFTER the order of Melchzidek as Christ/Messiah has been HERE since day 1.

On the 1st Day GOD ALMIGHTY created The Light, This IS Our Fathers Perfect Plan of Salvation for ALL mankind in and through The Annoited One, Christ Messiah, The Angel/Messenger of The LORD.(not just any Angel)

Our Instructions @ This Time; is to trust NO ONE, not even your own mate, but rather check everything out in HIS WORD.

Hears a prophesy to consider @ this time from a Real Prohet sent by Our Father loooong ago, to speak to us Now.

AMOS CH 8/11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: (notice ALL uppercase/The Father)

12: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

The Good-News; the blindness IS over.

It is now time to hear what exactly Our Father Spoke; concerning His Plan of Salvation in and through Christ/Messiah and NOT any mans interpretation of it.

For these interpretations = 1000 lie's for every One of pearl of Our Father's endless Truths.

The conclusion that I have reached through hearing Our Father's Word IS:

He created THIS earth to be inhabited Forever.

He does Not Lie.

He does Not back down.

This Universal Humane Society for ALL abused life, anywhere and everywhere, Will be up and running AGAIN Guarenteed by OUR Father in and through Christ/Messiah. After all, where with commen-sense does one think all these creatures came from?

I know from Our Father's Word, that He rescues them; from the current state that they are in and gives them a change as well with His Breath of Life and are adopted into this Garden of Life.

Thing is, we have never been in this state before and the creatures and animals have; its not that we came from monkeys; its that we are in fact in a monkey state lol.

Sin? pretty sure its a New Testament teaching that goes something like this; for it is not so much the sin that goes into ones mouth that defiles the man, but rather the sin that comes out of it that defiles the man. (and he is not talking about puking lol : )

I chat with people, not to express an opinion, but to testify that I have in fact heard The Father's Word with understanding and that makes me a witness(all anybody can be, at this time) to the spoken, written and Living Word, all 3, one and the same.

Its in the Bible; one cannot have The Father without The Son and vice-versa.

I think you are right, if someone doesn't believe in going to Christ for repentance for being cleansed of sin, they can't go to the Father to worship, even.

But I think Genesis is the key, before the four gospels, even. I studied the torah, the first five books of the bible, by going verse by verse and when something was fulfilled from those books in the NT, going there to see how it was completed and fulfilled. By doing it that way, with the beginnings at the beginning and Christ finishing it, I could understand the gospel as I never could before.

After all God (with Christ included) was our creator, we ARE through Him. We live on through Christ and forgiveness.

hmmm just another typical day in cc trust is like a double edge sword it cuts both ways,!in the sense of it all you can fully trust that your friends will do good while your away but unforntunately its the bad servant good servant thing where the word trust is truly lost when people forget that the eyes of the truth are always watchin.

i do agree 1 john 2:24 be sure to keep in your hearts the message you herd from the beginning,? i think that refers to (genesis) . if you keep that message then you will allways live in union with the son and the father and this is what christ him self promised to give us eternal life i am writing this to you about those who are trying to decieve you. but as for you, christ has poured out his spirit on you as long has his spirit remains in you you do not need anyone to teach you

The point that I was trying to make was that people who make little effort to repent of their sin don't, in my opinion, have theological opinions worth listening to. However, it is true that none of us can be completely trusted, I suppose.

Opinions are cheap and rampant, even I have opinions. When it comes to trust, the Word is exact on that. We are to only trust Yahweh, God. We are not to trust any man, not even ourselves.
The latter, for example, there will be times when we may lean toward a manner of thinking or resolving a specific question regarding truth. If what we tend toward does not coincide with what our Father teaches us, we go with His teaching. There have been times I was not certain on a subject, and He made it clear. I have never regretted His teaching.
