i stand to be corrected

let one of them get on here and say they get solid Bible input every day
as regularly as they take their medication and still are not hearing from God

the manna in the wilderness is a lesson for us
Some people can't do that. Have you ever thought about that?

G-d isn't an estranged father that rejects you if you slip up on reading His Word. He is faithful to help us in our time of need, even though it's not always the way we expect.

I know a man who read the entire bible cover to cover in two or three weeks and never read it again for the rest of his life - 50 years of no bible reading, and G-d still spoke to him and helped him. That's what G-d does, because He is merciful and just.

the cause of peoples' depression is psychological
the symptoms may be physical
the cure is either gonna be through their own strength but if they were already strong they wouldnt crash in the first place
OR the cure will be spiritual; for which you need spiritual nourishment
that guy you mentioned; at least he had read the bible once and God was able to bring to his remembrance what he had read
this is called ''doctrine resident in the soul'

Hang your doctrine, it doesn't define how G-d works if you think G-d is only going to help you if you read His Book.

I'm sorry if that sounds harsh, but I've seen too many people get turned away from G-d because people like you give them the lie that G-d isn't going to help them just because their faith wasn't strong enough. That's prosperity gos-se, not biblical truth.

Regular bible reading or other forms of spiritual nourishment are vital in winning battles against emotional issues.

They're vital in ANY circumstance. That does NOT mean G-d is going to abandon you if you don't get that, though.

Exactly as a matter of fact I read the bible only one verse a day sometimes miss a few days. It's all in my head and heart. It's very freeing to know you don't need to read the bible every day.

so you are telling me that if a person who is physically sick
insists on neglecting healthy eating it is God's responsibility to overrule and make him healthy anyhow
it is not just God's book; it is spiritual nourishment - too many spiritual anorexics on this site and in the church in general

When a person is sick they usually fast and don't eat much food.

yeah but you have already stored up some doctrine for when you need it
Well yeah , you put the hard work in and then it pays off. BUt I never lose a hunger for God's Word, I always grab it every day and night.

Psa 119:104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
Psa 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

What was the question? OH, God won't forsake a person for not reading the bible, got it. But, it's a great cure for mental illness.

Again: Who are you to take the place of G-d and judge a man's heart? You say they "insist on neglecting" G-d's Word - how do you know?

Some people CAN'T read the bible every day.

Alternatively we could cast out the spirit of mental illness or prayer for healing.

I hope you're not trying to use that verse to say that G-d WILL forsake a person for not reading the bible.

which verse? It's not so much a question of God forsaken a person but the person forsaking God.

now you are misrepresenting me - I did not use insist in that context - but this tells me that your motivation now is to win an arguement rather than anything else

I will reiterate

someone with depression can still nourish their body and can still take their meds on a regular basis - they can also choose to feed their human spirit if they make it a priority

that is an avenue of healing they need to explore

It can be caused by a demon, it's one of the most obvious ones that can be caused by them.

Luk 8:35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

Evil spirits which cause mental disturbances are mentioned in the Hebrew Scriptures. But they were not dispatched or controlled by Satan; they were sent by God to torment people:

1 Kings 22:23: "...behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets..."
1 Samuel 16:14: "But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him." (KJV)
1 Sam 18:10: "And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul..."

These evil spirits were given specific jobs, they were not mental illnesses.
