The book of Revelation, the title itself means to reveal or to make known. That being said God took John in the spirit while on the island of Patmos to the first day of the millinium, also known as the Lord's Day. That one thousand year period God set up for the purpose of redeeming all the souls possible before that Great White Throne judgement at the end of the millinium or the Lords Day. That one last chance for everyone to gain a soul that achieves the status of deathlessness, to live with the Father forever and forever. God took John to the very first day of that great day, John was there in real life in the spirit, that very day and time as God knows how. God took John so He could tell us what it was going to be like. To tell us the things we needed to know before we go through the experience ourselves. God always tells His people all things though the prophets. God even enterprets some of verses in Revelation for us. Just when God said that the candle sticks were the churches. The thinking being, candles sticks give off light and so should the churches give off light and truth. God took John so John could tell us what to expect.

He tells us where the 666 comes from. It's revealed in The SEVEN SEALS, THE SEVEN TRUMPS, and THE SEVEN VIALS. God repeats it three times. On the SIX TRUMP, ANTI CHRUST Appears,on the SIX SEAL, ANTI CHRIST Appears, and on the SIX VIAL, ANTI CHRIST Appears. That's 666, and for those who take the mark, it's in your forehead, not on your forehead. It's what's in your mind not something stamped on your forehead. If you take the mark, that mean your doing and helping Anti Christ further His plan and that one thinking Anti Christ is the true Christ. It is written that many will worship Anti Christ thinking He was the true Christ. Very big mistake. This is the purpose of the Lords Day/Millinium. To redeem all those souls that is possible that were fooled by Anti Christ. Anti Christ is not coming waring and killing, He coming portraying to the true Christ. He is coming to steel your soul if He can. This is why it's is so important to gain THE SEAL OF GOD in your minds. Revelation 9:4. This is God talking to Anti Christ telling Him, And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; BUT ONLY THOSE MEN WHICH HAVE NOT THE SEAL OF GOD IN THEIR FOREHEADS. So you see if you have that Seal of God, you have God's protection from Anti Christ. IT IS COMMANDED BY GOD HIMSELF. How could one go wrong by acquiring the SEAL OF GOD?

like it was mentioned in the previous reply by EarsToHear, when you hear the thunder, the lightening has already struck.

IT ISN'T!

Rev 1v19 is though!

Introduction: The source of Revelation and John's greeting to the Churches. Rev.1v1-8.

"Write the things which thou hast seen..." Rev 1v9-20

(John's vision of our glorified Saviour, and the comfort and commission that He gave to His aged beloved apostle.)

"and the things which are..." Rev 2v1-3v22

(Christ's revelation of the spiritual condition of the seven churches in Asia and His messages to them. These messages reveal the relationship and attitude of Christ to His Church on earth.)

"and the things which shall be hereafter..." 4v1-22v21

(a. Events in Heaven and earth from just prior to the last 7 years of this age, to the return of Jesus. Rev.4v1 to 19v21. This portion concentrates mainly on the last 3½ years of this age, the period of time known as the great tribulation.
b. The Millennium. Rev 20v7-10.
c. The last judgement and the second resurrection. Rev 20v7-10.
d. The eternal kingdom and the ages of ages. Rev 21 and 22.)

Yes, that seems right.

Past = Encounter with the Father and Son
Present = letters to the Churches on their present condition
Future = The Angel shows John the future of the Church, etc
