I agree with everything, except they were actually charismatics.

actually, one of the biggest NAR churches, was Pentecostal

NAR is NOT Charasmatic

I've done quite a bit of research on the subject and you cannot be lumping Pentecostal, NAR, WOF and charismatic altogether

if you start research online...or other sources...you will find the above to be factual

thanks

ps...I am not stating this to be right...but I am particular on facts

Chilton turned full preterist before his death, so a fair bit of his writings would need to read in that light.

that's an important fact and I would go so far as to say that what a person believes IS the light to shine on what they say

preterist...partial...or whatever

Have you read any of Chiltons books? I have checked out sites about NAR and find very little resemblance. NAR appears to flourish in a Pentecostal setting. David Chilton came from a Presbyterian background
Manifest Sons of God, Restoration, Dominion, Reconstruction, the Kingdom Now teachings [and in 2018, New Apostolic Reformation, NAR].
Apostles, Prophets, Teachers of Manifest Sons, Kingdom Now teachers. Following are names of individuals persuaded by some or all of these doctrines: Manifest Sons of God, Latter Rain, Identity, Dominion:

titanic comes to mind

can't resurrect it

moving the deck chairs around won't keep it from sinking either

that reminds me, has anyone else seen the special on that ship wherein it is revealed that it left on it's maiden voyage already damaged?

where it had been damaged seems to be what gave way...makes me think that the devil hits the hardest where we are damaged or weak and like an iceberg, we don't always see the bulk of the hit coming our way

just thinking out loud  not addressing anyone personally

When I was in the coast guard. We had our deck crew. They would paint things whether they worked or not. They considered that if it looked good. Thats what matters, this includes polishing the brass.

The brass can be the best looking brass in the fleet, Bit if the ship is sinking, it is worthless. You need to find out why the boat is sinkiung, and see if it can be fixed. Or abandon ship!

This thread is set up as a way of discussing our attitude as to how we should view the world today.
It seems many faceted. The Scriptures do reveal increasing apostasy in the last days. It also calls us to watch for His return. It reminds us to be good stewards of what we have, doing all as unto the Lord. It reminds us we are in the world but not of the world, yet His Kingdom is not of this world etc.

When it comes to 'have dominion over the world' (Gen 1:28) that is fulfilled in Christ, seeing we have already broken the commands of Christ, and is part of the Gospel package, especially as it pertains to the Millennium.
