How to know when a witch comes to church? So what? If she's a witch, she NEEDS to be there and we ought to be grateful she even showed up. A witch is living in sin just as we were before we committed our lives to Christ.
To discriminate against any sinner is against God's Word and is offensive to me. I used to be involved in witchcraft, fornication, lies, gossip, hate, thievery, etc. And you know what? SO DID YOU.
I see no reason why it would be important to know another persons sins unless they are harming someone. Then it would be revealed to me for the reason of getting the victim to safety or getting someone more qualified to help.
The point is: we are NOT to assume that Church is only for the forgiven. It is for everyone. Christ spent all of His time with sinners, to bring them to forgiveness and show them a Love they've never known. THAT is what we're supposed to do, NOT pick the witch out of the church goers while singing Amazing Grace.

a Christian can be operating with a wrong spirit...it's in the Bile...see...so many just ignore those scriptures or don't even know they are there

we are never to ignore evil...but we don't pray against people...that is where things go off the rails

FYI, terrible harm IS done...daily...by those who operate in deception and think they are doing good...they sow discord and lies...that's in scripture also

I understand what you are saying... but why do you suppose the body of Christ is such a mess? people just accept things without trying the spirit...and we have false teachers running around...false prophets...and those who flatter everyone and beguile others with their 'fake' love

We have abiding in us the Holy Spirit Who is infinitely greater than any created spirit.

but on the side, (I'm gonna get old and gray saying this haha...but her it goes again anyway)...the actual rendering of the word possessed should be in the sense that the person has a demon...or possess' a demon..the demon does not own the person

it's like you own a chair...you sit on the chair...the chair does not own you ...but you still have the chair (OK...not the best example)



evil spirits cannot attach to a Christian cause the feel like it...has to be a reason for it...ie: sin or ignorance in what a person is doing

Yes it's not a problem when a real witch visits a church. They are mostly directly identified and repent. This is about a spirit of witchcraft in church working through believers. That's far more dangerous.

I suppose you are making a distinction between possession and oppression. I'll concur a Christian can be oppressed but not possessed.

If we belong to God in Christ, how can the devil possess us? sounds pretty logical to me

but too many of us are ignorant of his schemes as opposed to knowing about them like NT Christians did

that is the basic reason I have been in the trouble I have been in and why I spent so many years working with someone (serving God) who had a spirit that was not of God operating through them...and when I finally saw it and stood up to it...well, all hell broke loose

It was through Derek Princes' teaching...books and tapes...that I began to realize what was going on

I had been taught that Christians cannot be bothered by demons and blah blah blah

well they can destroy your life....ignorance does not protect you...especially when the thing you keep banging up against is the demon in the Christian supposedly loving you and praying with and for you

so much harm is done and so much potential in a life is wasted when someone is ignorant of what can happen and they think everything they hear is the Holy Spirit and they act on it and don't care how it hurts or effects others...they get this idea they must obey God...but it is not God they are hearing...they forgot to test the spirits...get all full of pride and self righteousness and thought they were above it all

next thing you know, everyone is reeling and does not know why and nothing good happens

if a person absolutely will not take direction, won't listen to anyone no matter how many say the same thing, and prays against people rather then to God, what is going on is witchcraft in the sense it is being discussed in this thread

I witnessed for Christ in a class, had a male witch sitting beside me, didn't know and he wanted to meet with me after class in the lounge. He got an earful of Christ. That is not what he wanted, but the Lord protected me...a few nights later I started having very vivid dreams of a circle of people chanting over me and it took some serious prayer to make it stop

Since that time, I seem to recognize a witch and vice versa...have had other things happen...I'm still in one piece

I don't know why God allows some of the things He allows, but we learn to fight and overcome in the spirit

The first place where we had a church, his mother also came, but she wouldn't listen to him because ah that's just my son. She was so controlling and it was really occult and demonic and she refused to forgive people. She did the coffee. I didn't dare ask for a cup. Everyone was afraid of her. People left because of her. Once he dared put his car in her spot, whooo, you would notice during the service. We had to really get away there and went to that other place. First it was great, but in the end when we took offense and stopped praying together every morning it was over. I sometimes say: the devil destroyed our marriage and we helped him. Thyatira is the church that revolves around power ... the seat of God's throne ... the heart. Witchcraft appeals to the Opposser's power rather than God's power.
