Sin entered the world through eve, the mother of all the living. She was the first to commit spiritual adultry.

When the Lord said that the woman's desire shall be for her husband, He was referring to the woman controlling the man, in the same way that the desire of sin mastered Cain.

When a woman exercises authority over a man, it is generally a disgrace to society. This is why Deborah the Judge came along when everything was in chaos and turned upside down.

Israel had worshipped female deities.

Deborah was a wise woman who held to traditional scriptural respect for the social order that God, who is a male, created.

WOMEN WHO EXERCISE AUTHORITY OVER A MAN, ARE A DISGRACE TO SOCIETY, BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE CHURCH!!!
ROFL

Here we go again.

Sooooo, Women of CC. Want to get back to talking about wearing pants? We can just skip the trying-to-convince-the-boy-who-thinks-he-should-control-girls part and go right into the fun stuff.

Or should we try to teach someone how off he is?

Your choice, but I'm just going to put it out there here and now --

I'm in my pajamas. lol

Here is a short 13 minute video that puts this foolishness to bed once for all. In Christ there is neither male nor female but there are cultural situations that we need to be aware of. Not understanding this and we end up with women with buns in their hair and not wearing jewelry and thinking we are "following the word of God".

That seems like a fairly reasonable happy medium. LOL
Yeah, with authority comes responsibility, and people to question it, and all that kinda stuff. So I'm good with not having any authority.:p lol

Magenta already addressed the first part. Your numerous spelling errors are bolded.

When a woman exercises authority over a man, it is generally a disgrace to society.
Your opinion is a disgrace to the Church, and you have no evidence to support it.

Israel had worshipped female deities.
Irrelevant.

Deborah was a wise woman who held to traditional scriptural respect for the social order that God, who is a male, created.
God is Spirit. He created male and female. He reveals Himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

WOMEN WHO EXERCISE AUTHORITY OVER A MAN, ARE A DISGRACE TO SOCIETY, BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE CHURCH!!!
Shouting your opinion does not make it any more valid.

Magenta, this is the reason women were not aloud to vote, they refuse any responsibility for sin, and blame everything on men or the devil.
Taking the actions of one woman and applying them as a general "truth" to all women is invalid.

It is man that has no excuse before God, because Eve came afterwords. He was forced to accept responsibility for listening to his wife.
As Magenta noted, it is through Adam that sin entered. His sin was eating the forbidden fruit, not listening to his wife.

Responsibility is always upon the man. Therefore a woman who honors her man with true grace and humility, being in subjection before the Lord and the congregation, will remain silent. Inturn, she is given some amount of responsability.
If responsibility is always on "the man" then women have no responsibility and are therefore without sin... clearly an unbiblical position.

But a woman who does not honor her husband, brings her whole family into bondage, and is a disgrace to all. She refuses to honor and obey authority!!!
You provide no objective evidence or scriptural support that a dishonoring woman brings her whole family into bondage. Your comment has no validity.

Eves downfall was a lack of faith and trust in God. She was weak. You need to be strong and faithful in the small things to carry responsibility and trust. A woman's place is in administering her own household(Children), under the authority and headship of her husband!!!
Your reasoning is unsound. You have little grasp of the nature of trust. Your conclusion is silly as it cannot apply to all women. Your understanding of the passages in question is limited and warped. Your opinion is sexist and is a sad but accurate example of all that the world decries in the Church: narrow-minded bigotry.

Learn how to interpret the Bible rightly, and learn not to spew your chauvinistic hogwash.

Georgie your understanding of the Hebrew word 'teshuqah' as meaning longing or desire to control, I believe is incorrect.

I actually belonged to a Calvinistic church that interpreted that word the same as you are. I'm wondering if this is a Calvinist's interpretation or an accepted interpretation?

From what I've read it was a woman named Susan Foh who interpreted it in this way in 1974 when she wrote a book called, "What Is A Woman's Desire".

In my research I've learned that the longing or desire was for her husband - not to control her husband. It's mostly accepted this way by many scholars and historians.

How old are you? Have you been hurt by a woman?

No authority means no worries.

The Lion King calls it hakuna matata because it's a worry free philosophy. They even did a song about it:p
LOL I remember that! I might have to adopt that philosophy. LOL Sounds like its working out great for ya!! :D

Are there actually women on CC that go around wearing pants?

If women don't wear skirts, then I can't see their legs.
Wait, that's not what I meant.
That didn't come out right.
What I meant was... ummm... wait... uhhhh....
What I meant was something really spiritual and I'm just too tired to explain it right now.
Yeah.
You see... it's like... mmmmm.
When I see a woman's legs I'm just thinking about bible studies and stuff.
Yeah.
And that's why skirts are important.
Anyone can see that.
Skirts are good for the kingdom.
See?
