Sorry I meant to ask, "Why should we worship God?"

I still believe it is important to define what worship is first. Is it the customs and rituals performed every week by various churches or something else?

I reworded the question.
Well, to me worship means obedience so why should I obey God? Because first of all He is God but that alone is not enough for some so He fills them with His love and that moves them to worship Him. That's what happened to me.

Maybe so, but I'm not questioning the worship, I'm questioning the why. So however it is, right now its irrelevant.

For some reason, perhaps God built it into us but people tend to devote affection towards whom they love. Some people write poetry, some people sing songs to their lover etc. We naturally direct this kind of devotion toward God. I think of like a man with a guitar outside a balcony singing to the woman he loves lol

Hummmm

God is our Creator, without Him we would be nothing - no heartbeat, no air, no water, nothing to eat, nowhere to live. God created everything out of nothing. Who or what human/angel any other creature or creation could do what God has done? Then on top of that look at the LOVE that God has shown sinful mankind in that while we were yet sinners He sent His Son Jesus to die for OUR SINS.... We were God's enemy and He still Gave us a chance at life.

Why wouldn't we want to praise, give glory, and honor plus our love to the God who created us and has given us HIS ALL?

You cannot get to why unless we agree what worship is. Some believes that going to church is worship. If I don't go to church then by their definition I do not worship God. So I ask what it really is.

Now I read material outside the bible as well and one of my favorites is the book of Thomas. In it Christ is said that when you see one who was not born of woman, THEN to fall on your faces. That one is your Father.

I understand your frustrated with all The Sabbath threads, but right now the how you worship is irrelevant, all I'm asking for is the why.

And I'm not really sure what you're implying with your last paragraph.

Well I spoke of why I worship him, but what is worship to me? To me worship could be from praising God on the highest mountain to a simple Heartfelt prayer. I worship him often time with my heart, I tell him how I adore him I tell him how I am so lucky to know him and sometimes my heart will be overfilled with love and adoration for him and since he knows and reads my heart i praise him without even speaking.

Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Worship: To prostrate oneself in homage, to reverance, adore

Blessings!!!!!!!

Revelation 14:

6And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
7Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

Why not worship God? I give praise and thanks to God because of what He didn't have to do for me, but did anyway :)

Worship, lets examine, David worshiped God while keeping his sheep and a bear came and he killed it, then while worshiping God a lion came and he killed it. Then a giant came defiling the God of Israel and David worshiped God and killed the giant. What does that tell you, when you worship, the presence of God surrounds you. There is nothing more powerful than the presence of God. The ark of the covenant represented the presence of God and dagon fell before it.

many times over the years, something we have witnessed
with great sadness, is that people tend to worship 'religion'
instead of their Creator, actually, they become addicted to
the institution of religion itself.
people become so enmeshed in the inner-social workings
of the churches and the social-ladder, that their real
allegiance and honor and respect go to the ones who are
able to contribute the most financially, therefore these
are the ones who gain the real power and control among the sheep.

over and over we see the sheep and the shepherds turn a blind-eye
to the character of the ones they depend on who truly pull the strings.

one thing is certain, our Father says, seven times in Rev.
to the churches, 'I know thy works'.....

That is true, they worship on Sunday or Saturday and never really worship in Spirit and truth. They think that Sunday or Saturday will save them. I wish I could tell them, but they will not listen. What do you do?
