Something often overlooked is Why is the State issuing marriage licenses in the first place?

marriage is a spiritual thing.

we wouldn't want the State in charge of Baptism licenses.

God has always found homosexuality a total abomination.

Choose wisely.
and proof of that is sodom and gomorrah which is no more along with it's abominable people.

I don't think Paul ever said that.
it's in one of his books of a certainty these words"if a man have two wives the one loved and the other hated" as to which book I'm not sure.

Yeah exactly why even have a ceremony of a "marriage" if you don't believe in what marriage entails, you can't believe in marriage and not abide by the beliefs that go with it,it's the same as putting on a show, just to look good.

Yes to God-supported marriage, no to man's redefinition of marriage. Thanks. God bless. :)

How is society better with gay marriage?
How is it godly attitude to stand by and do nothing to allow sin to spread unimpeded? I'm not for forcing people to live Christian lives morally, but neither am i for giving society a free pass on any sin they desire to justify.
I have been thinking about this double standard of mine the past few hours. And of course it is a bit personal. We have been given free will. And I guess I have got used to the gay right to marry in public offices. I can't interfere with was is already the law here. But it is true. It is mocking the creation and God's order for man and woman. I feel split between the law of man and the law of God here. I have to live in a fallen world, yet I am accountable to God's standard. How to solve with? Go with the flow or swim against the stream? I left the church of Norway because of that they now accept gay weddings in church. That's the double standard.

I see accepting the gays' right to marry, also opens up more problematic issues of gays' right to adopt a child, using surrogate mothers, right to fertilisation treatment. All of which I am totally against. But can we reverse the law? Can we force our standards to the fallen world?

Where do we choose our battlefield? To win souls for Christ? To preach the Gospel as in scripture. To show the world by action what love and rrighteousness are all about?

guess I'll have to look for it,it's some important figure in the bible.
I think you're conflating things. Jesus said we cannot serve God and mammon, we will hate the one and cling to the other. Maybe you're thinking of that.

Anyhow, enough "heresy" from you for a night. To redeem yourself you must read every "begat" in Scripture by midnight tonight or you'll go blind in one eye, and the other eye you won't be able to see out of. :D

It isn't written in the Bible. If so, please Google it and find it, since you claim it is in there.

You seriously believe I'm railing on you bro?? You should relax, none of that is happening. Perhaps it is because you misspoke and thought Scripture said something it doesn't say???

That must be what it is.

Here I have been jovial with you, and light-hearted and you're tripping? Wow.

found it,ok so I was wrong it wasn't paul,it's im Deuteronomy Chp. 21 verse 15,"if a man have two wives, one beloved ,and another hated, and they have born him children, both the beloved and the hated, and if the first born son be hers that was hated:
Then it shall be,when he maketh his sons to inherit that which he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved first born before the son of the hated, which is indeed the first born:
But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the first born,by giving him a double portion of all that he hath:for he is the beginning of his strength;the right of the first born is his." wrong person and somewhat different words, but my point being that the verse speaks of the possibility of a man having two wives, just was figuring that this meant a man is allowed to have two wives,so the question is left is this a true insinuation or is this not right in God's view,an answer is much appreciated in a serious and biblical manner please.

I haven't mocked you, you're just overly sensitive and pusillanimous in nature. I'm not even sure what your question was. When you get serious feel free to ask it.

It is sad but some folks seem to really enjoy railing on others...:(

This is gonna sound bad and I am going to be called a slanderer here, but there really isn't any hope in having a honest discussion with some people because they are quick to belittle and cut you down.. keep in mind though, it's just joking when they do it, but don't say anything back or you are just over reacting and slandering them...
