Willie T,

All I am going to do is point you to the cross... Here we see Love ratcheted up. But, we also see God's wrath ractheted up.

Infact, look at the revelation 'Jesus' gave John.. Do I need to say anymore..

The same yesterday today and forever, the Alpha and the omega.... God does not change my friend!

Christ is all wisdom and understanding. His dwelling in us as the spoken word, not the written word is how we obtain His mind and truths. Ink on paper is not enough. We have trained and studied theologians who don't know Christ from the back end of a mule. Why? The tree of knowledge is mans desired path to God but it only shores up his arrogance of self attainment. Self, self, and more self!
We are of Abraham. He had no written word. God spoke to him personally. He walked by faith, establishing the promises by faith, yet seeing them afar off, His faith pleased God.
The first Christians turned the world upside down for Christ because they had the Word dwelling within them. Up-side-down: Pride-side-to humility.
They had no bibles, no Christian book stores, no tapes, no cd's, no mega star celebrity preachers, just faith in Christ and submission to Him when they heard His name and message the first time.

The Holy Spirit was more than enough to revolutionize their lives forever. Souls were being saved by the thousands and that without advertising campaines, PA systems, and rock concert presentations.
No christian movies, no top of the line music bands, no promises of wealth and health, no begging for hard cash by hirelings, no selling of high priced tickets to the auditoriums,(the poor stand outside), no seminary trained professionals, no bible schooled clerics, no self professed hierarchy, in a word, no mentally educated or trained leadership with polished oratory skills. The way of carnal knowledge was the way of religion and death.
Only by transfusion of God with our spirit brings His life, His mind into our being. His understanding by His 'still small voice'.
I realize it seems I digressed a bit, but my point being this. All I mentioned are the works of man and his understanding, his idea of working the kingdom and it is futile at best. Flesh is flesh and spirit is spirit.
We must do nothing...nothing without His prompting of the Spirit. He works in us both the will and to do of His good pleasure.
Did you get it! He works in us to do........
So the answer would be 'yes'! Christ alone in us the hope of glory! The hope of seeing as He sees, as He reveals His secrets to us.

Ok.... Now, you have Hin "Striking down nations."

With what? "A sword coming out of His mouth." Interesting way to hold a weapon.

But, then, after you have Him killing these nations.... He is then going to rule them?

Oh well, let's just say somehow that happens. Then, I believe you would tell me they are cast into Hell or a Lake of Fire.... Right? Great. Got rid of them.

But, uh oh........... who shows up right outside the new city (Where the gates are NEVER SHUT) Looks like those pesky "nations" again.

And what is the Bride and the Spirit doing? I hear them inviting "Come". Come where? It seems to indicate........ inside the city where "the leaves of The Tree of Life are healing for the nations." For whom??? Yep, Rev 22 (around verse 17) says for those killed (dead) and burned up "NATIONS."

Now, do yourself a favor, and go all the way back to the very first verses of the book. What state of being does John tell us he is in when he sees all this stuff?

Please, get all that FEAR Jesus told you not to have out of your mind, and understand that NONE of John's vision was ever meant to be taken literally.
this is off topic since it is not part of your origional post.

But prophesy is totally useless as a means to prove God is God and the one true god. unless it is taken literally.

God uses symbolic things to show literal events.

if these things do not happen. God is a liar.

Not mocking Revelation as it was written..... Just agast at the twisted mess people try to make out of John's message by using it as a crystal ball.
you mean usiing prophesy to determine what may happen in the future (which is what it is used for.

Glad that the OT prophets, who made prophesy of literal events fulfilled by Christ 2000 years ago literally came true, or our hope. this thread, and everything we do think or say about God would be meaningless.

"If we are going to, as "Christians", believe that God and Jesus are one, then we had better decide which one is the real God."

So are you saying we need to pick between the OT and NT God which is correct one? Im missing something I think....
hmm, interesting question, but after last few posts. I can see why you would ask it. I am interested in his answer myself

Since I can read, I already know there are people here who will say this statement is not true. I am just curious to hear the reasons.

Our understanding of God, His will, ourselves, and the true condition of this present world cannot be formed by our experience, our reason, or even our interpretation of the Bible apart from Christ. We need a solid rock we can anchor ourselves to, and that Rock is Christ alone!

(And I am not talking about trying to cop out by pointing out that God and Christ are one. We all know Christ brought a totally different picture of the Father than was [and is] popularly accepted.)
Unless I'm misunderstanding you, I say the answer is profoundly yes.

Our understanding of God . . . cannot be formed . . . apart from Christ. Absolutely correct.
