There is a scripture in the Bible where Jesus warned us about the false prophets and false apostles and the anti-christ. And He warned that those would also do miracles and deceive many.
Now many years later the disciples still did miracels wherever they went and continue to do so because they were not afraid of the Gospel of Christ. They were more afraid of not completing the gospel of Christ than to stop talking or stop ministering to people around them.
So throughout the ages in the Bible a kind of sign that God always placed upon His people, the Isrealites and again on the Christians of the new Testament is that He performs miracles. And noteably that was a huge difference between God and any other false god. Even the sorcerers were not able to compete with God, for He was and is and always will be God. Another part how one could always know whether or not someone was off God was the fact that Godly deeds were evident in that persons life. People believed Elijah was a man of God, because of the truth in His prophecies. People believed in Elisha because of the miracles he performed. People believed in Moses because of the things he has done. People believed in Samuel because of the truth of His sayings and prophecies. People believed that Samson was of God because of his unique strength. I can go on an on and on. And on all accounts some sort of fruit of gift was exchanged between God and man and that is how one could identify those who worked for Him without doubt. In the new Testament this did not in any way became less, but in fact I might even dare say increased. Because now it was not just certain individuals but whole groups of people that performed miracles, preached and prophesied according to the words of God.
You see God still does this today. However for this, He requires something from us. And most people would say Faith. But God requires something much more simple, which would enable us to have faith. And this is called obedience. Because through obedience the power of God's word can reach us and fill us with the power we need to overcome any situation. But without obedience we are not in His light and therefore not inside His protection of authority.
Now here is where a lot of people want to fear. Just like the Isrealites feared to come closer to the mountain of God. People don't want to hear God. They are afraid because then they have to obey. Then they cannot say... but I didn't know. So they decide not to be hot or cold. I'll leave you with that thought.
Hearing God is a privelidge. It is a tremendous honour. God is above a king. God is God. And we are mere servants. So if a king summons a servant for a specifc task, the servant would come into His presence with absolute reference and hear the task and obey it up to the last detail. Yet many wish to walk into the presence of God as if they have the authority of being able to formulate an argument and reason with the Almighty. I beg your pardon, but wake up.
People are afraid that they might do the actual gospel and minister in the gifts of God. Jesus, who is the greatest teacher in the world. Taught His disciples in three and a half years, day and night how the gospel and miracles and gifts of God work. He explained and trained them in the Kingdom of God. He didn't just tell them He is going to die on a cross and He is the son of God. He explained everything to them in detail and trained them how everything works. Even Paul was taken into the dessert for three years of training.
Yet people think that we cannot do the gifts of God because of their fear of the Anti-Christ and False-Apostles and False Prophets. Healing and helping others and obeying God has always been the Gospel. It isn't Anti-Christ. Obedience has always been about Christ.
People often tell me... if you want to test things whether or not it is true or not... you have to test it on the Bible. Let me tell you, people is stuck on their own ideas inside that Bible and would see anything in the Bible unless it is revealed to them by the Holy Spirit. So the only way you can truly test something is by testing it by the Holy Spirit. Asking God in other words. Testing it by its fruit. Does it have the fruit of God or satan. Fear is not the fruit of God. Hate is not the fruit of God.
If you cannot listen to God. What value has Christianity to you then. For faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. So if you cannot listen to the word of God, then how can you have faith and if you do not have faith how can you please God, and if you cannot please God how can you ever grow in Him and learn more and more about Him.
