Does anyone out there use the youversion bible app? My pastor suggested it and I love it. Just wanted to see if anyone used this as part of their bible study.

I have it, but I still haven't figured out how to use it. I end up going back to Biblegateway.com and using it. I prefer it because I can compare and contrast translations with the Greek.

Another useful one is Esword, but I think I don't think there is an android version.

i have an android app called "MySword" but i use a more basic one called 'MultiVersionsBible' more often that doesn't have all the commentaries & lexicons etc - just a handful of translations i can see in parallel if i want. usually i just want to see the text, and this has a cleaner interface for doing that than the fancier MySword app. they both have their uses though.

i've got ESword on my laptop and the MySword app is pretty similar in the amount of resources you can pack into it -- but it is limited in what translations it has; something about copyright (both of the ones i use are free apps, no ads). is ESword app more or less like the desktop/laptop software?

I use the tercarta bible app.

I have it on both my iPad and phone, you can add different coloured
highlights, copy and paste from it (I use that when referring to verses
on here), add book marks, make margin notes, email and print it out etc.

You can look up cross references and foot notes. Also you can copy
chunks across to other apps like one note, notes, word etc. So it's
good for using in research or serious study.

You can also sync across devices so all your notes and highlights appear
on all devices.

There are loads of versions of the bible to download (most are chargeable)
and you can view two parallel versions side by side to compare them.

Once you have downloaded what you want there is no need to go on line to
use the app, you only need to go on line if you want to sync across your devices.

It also has a text speech facility so the text is read out, although this
sounds a bit robotic. Hopefully they will change that at some point.

Ive used it for a couple of years without any problems and find it
very good.
