We are now in the time of the great tribulation. Many people try to make the tribulation about religious persecution from the world or governments or nations. But the Bible teaches that this tribulation is like never was seen before. It can't be about physical persecution. Mankind has tortured and killed people skillfully with intense pain since sin entered the world. The tribulation is about spiritual persecution. The Bible says it occurs when the abomination of desolation takes place. That is when satan infiltrates the church. He comes as an angel of light, but we know true light comes from God. His ministers come as ministers of righteousness the Bible says. Not a money controlling torture machine, but deceiving the very elect if it were possible with false do it yourself gospels, or works gospels. Satan comes as a deceiver in the churches where people hate one another if they don't agree with their particular religion or creed. True believers love God and His Word and want to be totally accurate to it in spite of what they would rather believe or find more comfort or entertainment in. They follow the mandate of the Bible itself that says it is not subject to "private interpretation." True believers are thankful to God if they are corrected from a false gospels or beliefs. But now that satan rules in the churches and secular religions. People treat religions like a sports team or something. They fight amongst themselves because they agree and identify with their particular slant on things, and don't want any challenges to them. The Bible says in Revelation 22:18-19 that we are not to add or take away from the Bible. But religions today include writings of people or science to be part of their religions. Or they simply say that God is still talking to them still or giving them signs or dreams to add to the Word of God. An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign, and no sign shall be given, except the sign of Jonah now that the Bible is complete. People talk about the lion lying down with the lamb as demonstrating peace during the so called future thousand year reign of Christ on this earth. But what the Bible is actually talking about is when satan as a roaring lion is accepted in the churches and at peace in the church with his false doctrines about the Lamb of God. Satan's throne is in the church! Then the warnings of Matthew 7 will be realized when after judgment these false believers are told "I never knew you, depart from me ye that work iniquity." So to sum it up, that is why people who call themselves Christians are mean and nasty, and hate one another, and are very verbally abusive. God never knew them.
