A.M.P - 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 But He said to me, my grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for my strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!
Paul had seen visions of Spiritual things, He was caught up to the third heaven and heard things that a man is not permitted to speak (V.4).
In order to keep him humble and from boasting, God allowed a thorn in his flesh, a message from Satan to buffet him (kolaphizo) which means to strike with the fist.
SOME APPLICATIONS.
Sometimes God allows challenges to come our way, so that we will learn to depend on his strength.
We tend to be come proud and have a feeling of self sufficiency when we can do things by ourselves: but the Christian life is not one that can be lived through the power of the flesh, so Paul gladly rejoiced is his weaknesses so that God’s strength can be manifested.
The Person who is proud seeks his own glory, but like young David, facing Goliath, let our desire be to Glorify God.
