Dear God (Written October 29, 2013 at 3:22pm)

I’m Judas who betrayed You with a kiss (Luke 22:48)
I am likened to Joseph’s brothers, selling the innocent into slavery because of evil jealousy within my heart. (Genesis 37:18-36)
I’m David lingering at home instead of leading the battle that You have appointed to me. I find myself upon that lofty rooftop lusting after what isn’t mine, stealing, and murdering to get that which doesn’t belong to me, thinking within my heart that no one is above me, forgetting that I will have to answer to You O Lord. (2 Samuel 11)
I’m Abraham who in lack of faith listened to the counsel of men, rather than to Your voice, therefore creating a entire nation against You. (Genesis 16, Genesis 17:20)
I’m Moses who in doubt struck the rock twice instead of heeding Your voice in the midst of the people. (Numbers 20:7-12)
I’m Peter who denied Your name three times the very same day that he swore that he would follow You even unto death. Even while I am still speaking out the words renouncing You, I see the pain in your eyes as You look up to me and I weep bitterly. (Mathew 26:34-35, Luke 22:54-62)
I’m Jonah running as fast as my feet can carry me to take the first ship available in the opposite direction of what You have commanded me. (Jonah 1)
I’m the Israelites wandering in the desert grumbling and complaining against You, despite of everything You have done for me! ( Exodus 14:11-12, Exodus 16:2)

“Who am I Lord to do what You have asked of me?” I ask filled with doubt and trembling. (Just as Moses, Exodus 3:11) I Stumble in self defeat because I am so busy looking at what I am not that I have forgotten everything that you are Lord!

David who was but a boy, brought down a giant with a single stone (while everyone else trembled in fear) because he did not look at himself, rather he gazed upon You Lord. He did not look at the giant compared to himself, rather he saw how small the giant was compared to You, O Lord. (1 Samuel 17)

Your word says Lord that You choose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; that You choose the weak to shame the strong. (1 Corinthians 1:27) Well let it be known that I certainly fit the description! Why have you chosen the weak? Lord, it is because your strength is made perfect through my weakness. (2 Cor. 12:9)
My weakness is so transparent that You shine through me!

May all the glory, honour, and praise be given to God!

Lord I surrender all that I am and all that I am not, that I may gaze upon Your beauty, that I may see your wondrous work done through me. Change my heart, change me so that I may have a humble spirit before you. That I may not look to myself neither before I obey you, nor after You have accomplished Your work through me….because it is all You Lord. Without you there is nothing good,, the fruit that is developing in my life is a result of You being in me. Apart for You God, I am nothing. May your will be done in me and through me, In Jesus name I pray Amen. -Lydia Elaine
