In life we should always be growing and pushing ourselves to the next level spiritually, physically, mentally, in every way. That is why I believe that there are only two states of being – either growing or being stuck. Growth is when we are improving in some aspect of our lives whether it is working on our attitude, quitting smoking, gaining knowledge, or any other change for the better; we ought to be seeking new levels day by day.

On the other hand, being stuck is when decided in ourselves that our current state is all that God has for us. While being content isn’t bad in itself, the reality is that we cannot now the mind of God and know with any surety that God has nothing left for us – this is a false summation. “Ecclesiastes 8:17 (NKJV) 17 then I saw all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun. For though a man labors to discover it, yet he will not find it; moreover, though a wise man attempts to know it, he will not be able to find it.”

In the end, perhaps it is just fear or laziness that allows us to be content when God has so much more for us, of which, we cannot fully comprehend. Honestly, growth is painful and pulls us out of our comfort zone that is likely why we become so easily content; no one likes to be in pain, but that is the only way to be more Christ-like – forged through fire, sweat, and tears.

So, we should always be stretching ourselves, never being content with where we are at having the mentally it is not enough, I know all too well that I can do more – God is not done with me. We shouldn’t allow our passion for seeking God’s face or being more Christ-like ever burn out because once it does, it can be very hard to ignite again; I know this from personal experience and it is better to avoid it at all cost. Of course, even though it is very difficult it is not impossible because God never waivers or gives up on us because his love is long suffering and endures forever.

Noting this, let us push forward no matter the cost and breaking comfort zones every step of the way. Relentless faith that causes us to always brush ourselves off and quick to get right back into the fight. A never surrender and die hard attitude that requires a bold faith in Christ and is unshakable and unquenchable. Let our passion for God course through our entire being and let us stoke the flame of faith every single morning by being soaked in the word of God; knowing full well that reading the word of God is the key to keeping that flame burning bright blue visible from the throne of God, with the Son of God at his right-hand forever.

Truly, I by no means live up to this post and, in fact, fail God every single day, but this is what I hope we all can strive to do. This mindset will make us stronger Christians who are able to be at our absolute best each and every day. How can a Christian serve God when they no longer have the ability to make gains in their own life? Growing ourselves and growing the Kingdom of God goes hand and hand, did you know that? Read the scriptures and realize that with their pens the prophets captured themselves growing in faith through experiences and by stepping out of their comfort zone – facing death, torture, and every conceive suffering this world can offer, but with victory.

How did they achieve victory? The answer is by running the race spoken of by the Apostle Paul: “2 Timothy 4:7 (NKJV) 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Therefore, let us run the same race and never lay down at the half-way point and say this is enough I am content – let us fully finish the race attaining the place that God has for us accepting nothing less. Amen.
