AN INSIDE LOOK
I took a look outside, I saw your Frailty
A small discomfort I caused you, yet you’ve not forgiven me;
The way your selfishness and pride sweeps others like a broom
Keeps me so afraid of you, that I stay locked up in my room:
I took an outside look, and saw the world as cold as snow
There seem to be progress, but repentance is so slow,
For people are so wicked, as cold as can be
I concluded that this world of heathens was not a place for me:
Then I took an inside look, I saw my self-righteousness and pride
So rooted in my sinful ways, with me no peace resides;
I realized that by judging others, I made myself so worse
That the best blessing I could give someone was just a blatant curse:
But now I see myself for the vile person that I was
The callous heart of pride now melted through God’s Love,
No longer are all people heathens, Godless heretics and vile crooks
I found out we are all humans, when I took an inside look.
