Job 31

Verse 26-28

Seems like in his country people prayed to even sun as it governs the day and moon as it governs night (Gen 1)

But Job knew that God has created it and hence he worshipped God truly.

an't see how just looking at the sun or moon could be sin

he prob meant look as in loking at it to make it a god

but it seems like he is convincing his freinds that if he has done wrong let him suffer for it even more

he is innocent of the things he is saying, Innocent in thoughts and actions.

And in saying all this he also wants to know what God thinks abt him still..his frnds accused him but not God

Again, Job goes on about his innocence and says if God judges him honestly, He'll know he's blameless (verse 6). He goes on thinking and talking about different scenarios where he could've done wrong. He seems to be very conscious of all the good he does and how he's lived a pretty holy life, being cautious not to do wrong. I think a lot of Christians try to relate to God by their works, like how they paid their tithes or how they always go to church, etc. Which, those things are all good, but it's only what Jesus did for us that makes us righteous and accepted by God. Of course, Job didn't have Jesus to put his faith in to count himself righteous before God, but he still put so much trust in all his works that he felt justified that nothing should happen to him. I don't think, or know, if he was boasting, but rather reflecting and sincerely trying to find within himself and his actions where he has fault. In that sense, I think it's good to reflect and to make sure we try to do good, as the Lord would have us do.
