Job 36
Elihu has lot of wisdom or his own knowledge but he still isn't judging job right
even today without the story of job around
what wise person today would be able to tell job the reason for his suffering
who could have ever guessed that satan made a bet with God
v1 Elihu continued:
v2 Listen further! And on behalf of God, I will teach you more. v3 My knowledge is great. I will explain about God, who is my maker. And I will prove that God is fair.
v4 Know this: my words are true. And my knowledge is perfect.
here he mentioned about his own understanding
we at times use our own knowledge and understanding
these mysteries can only be understood by holy spirit
Elihu speaks about what benefit there is to obeying God as opposed to being wicked. "If they obey and serve him, they will spend the rest of their days in prosperity and their years in contentment." (verse 11). Verses 22 and on, Elihu speaks highly of God and is encouraging Job to think of God that way, instead of continuing on thinking God is unjust
Elihu. He does strongly thing his words are wise and true. I guess I see it as they must be okay or God would've spoken against him/corrected him. And also, all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and later God only corrects Job and his friends, so I guess we can assume that what Elihu is saying is good. Like in verse 4 of chapter 36, Elihu says, "he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee." that either means God, or if he is referring to himself, I truly believe he only ascribes that knowledge and wisdom to come from God. Although, I can hear the arrogance. I don't know...different versions of the bible say it in different ways lol. But like in Job 21:34 when Job says to his friend, "So how can you console me with your nonsense? Nothing is left of your answers but falsehood!", I think Elihu is just trying to contrast his own answers with that of his friends. Yeah, so true, only those mysteries could be understood/revealed by the Holy Spirit.
