Over the past twenty five years the month of April has been an attack month for America by the forces of evil. Esp. during what during what is this years Holy Week April 13-20. TIMELINE: April tragedies in US History - WTOC-TV: Savannah, Beaufort, SC, News, Weather & Sports
April is a prophetically significant month in our nations History.
-The shot heard around the world which started the Revolutionary War was April 19, 1775 - At dawn in Massachusetts, about 70 armed militiamen stood face to face on Lexington Green with a British advance guard unit. An unordered 'shot heard around the world' began the American Revolution. A volley of British rifle fire was followed by a charge with bayonets leaving eight Americans dead and ten wounded.
-The start of hostilities of the civil began also in this month April 12, 1861 - The American Civil War began as Confederate troops under the command of General Pierre Beauregard opened fire at 4:30 a.m. on Fort Sumter in Charleston, South Carolina. It ended in this same month April 9, 1865 - After over 500,000 American deaths, the Civil War effectively ended as General Robert E. Lee surrendered to General Ulysses S. Grant in the village of Appomattox Court House. The surrender occurred in the home of Wilmer McLean. Terms of the surrender, written by General Grant, allowed Confederates to keep their horses and return home. Officers were allowed to keep their swords and side arms. On Good Friday that same week President Lincoln died from assassination.
May we pray for God's protection for this month esp. during Holy Week this year. I personally pray that a revival would begin during this month that will sweep our nation similar as it did the West coast last century when the Azusa Street revival began April 9, 1906. May God Bless you and America with another Awaking again.
For the recorded I also cut and posted information fro this site as well. The History Place - This Month in History: April
