"The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty." Proverbs 27:12

Okay the dictionary definition for prudent is "acting with or showing care and thought for the future.

So basically, it means; "Those who are wise and who care about how their actions will affect their future can see danger and they avoid it and stay clear of it so they are safe/untouched."

Then it says "...But the simple keep going and pay the penalty."
What do they mean by simple?

According to the dictionary a "simple minded person" is "Stupid or silly; foolish. Mentally impaired."

So, I guess in other words that means "But those who are foolish see the warnings, they see the trouble ahead, but keep going...and therefore pay the consequences for that."

When I reflect on my life, I can look back and see times that I refused to take warning and kept going and therefore paid the consequences because of that in my personal life. Therefore, I realize how simple application of this verse, simple wisdom could change our lives.

How different would your life be if when you saw danger ahead in your life you turned away from it instead of stubbornly continued toward your own disaster?
