I don't think using the PC label is doing any good. I am opposed to the death penalty because I don't think that is what Jesus would have done. I think what you call liberals would not accept my thoughts on how things should be. I am a conservative myself, and being opposed to barbaric ways of carrying out justice clearly doesn't make me a liberal.
When people who have a differing view resort to passive aggressive name calling and assumptions, it has nothing to do with you, but a reflection of their heart.

I think most people recognize this has nothing to do with PC, at the very least, certainly not you. You are 100% correct in that it is something Jesus would not have done. Scratch that, it's something Jesus did in fact PREVENT!

That's God's law !!!

The Law of Moses supported the death penalty in it, as it had God's life for a life in it !!!

Jesus in the New Covenant teachings that He brought forth said no to those death penalty punishments from the Law.

If He said no to the death penalty of His own written Law that He gave through Moses, then that same no would apply to any other law as well !!!

You still want to ignore that Jesus showed no to the death penalty in those two passages, if He was for it then He would have let it be carried out in both instances; But He didn't !!!
Jesus is King of Kings...does that mean that there is no more earthly authority for rulers or government?

Ro 13:1 ¶ Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Yes there is still earthly authority for rulers and government, but those rulers and governments are to follow His ways when making or carrying out laws.

If they don't we are clearly shown in the Word of God not to obey those laws of men over His way !!!

This is why all the early Apostles were all killed (accept John who was exiled) because they did not obey the laws of the land, but continued instead to obey God !!!

Paul was thrown in prison for denying the law of the land to keep preaching Christ !!!

Again God gave Moses the Mosaic law and in it supported the death penalty for breaking those commands, but Jesus in His New Covenant teachings of Love, Mercy, and Forgiveness said no to that ordinance; and said no man has a right to make that judgment on others because all are guilty of sin !!!

Have you committed adultery ??? Should you be put to death ???

God's written law says you should, but He removed that, so why must you hold on another what has been removed ???

Are you more special then them, are you better then them, do you deserve something they don't ???

Its written plan as day that government has the authority and the power to use the sword to punish evil doers... what do you think they do with the sword? Rub it on their belly?

Guy your just doing your normal double talk...you admitted in your last post that God gave authority to governments ...Romans 13 clearly explains that authority is to use the sword to punish evildoers. Now you know the truth don't change and I don't move from the truth...so wear yourself out if you want ... I can post Romans 13 all night, if I need to.

There is not double talk here as I clearly said that those laws the authorities are to do are to go by God's way, if they don't then we are clearly showed not to obey them.

Why do you refuse to answer the questions ???

The Pharisee said thank God he is not like other sinners, is that how you think ???

If not then thinking they are deserving of the death penalty, then you should also believe you are to !!!

I have read and studied it many times, and again it seems to say one thing but Jesus said the opposite then your understanding is wrong.

Repeating yourself over and over again is just a deflection tactic !!!

Please answer the questions posed........

We are commanded to show the same love, mercy, and forgiveness that was given to us toward others.

Saying or speaking as though some are deserving of death for their sins, but you do not is the same as the Pharisee who said thank God I am not like these other sinners !!!

Are you more special then them, are you better then them, do you deserve something they don't ???

Life in prison I can agree, but supporting putting one to death for their sins I can not !!!

Jesus removed the curse from the law, so why hold on others what He took for us ???

it "seems" to you...not to me or others who understand the difference between the law of Moses and the guilt of sin before God..and the fact that God ordained a legal system and authority on the earth to rule men... read Romans 13 again...Paul is not confused either about what Jesus was teaching ..only you seem confused.

Still deflecting and not answering the question !!!

Please do not respond to me again unless you can not answer simple questions so that you can continue with your hate and vengeance doctrine !!!

Because you constantly want to hold sins and the curses over on others, but thank you are immune !!!

That is pride, and pride is sin !!!

If the bible was more clear and direct about these things we wouldn't see debates like this all the time.
Oh wait it is... Thou Shalt Not Kill!

If the government wants to take vengeance in the form of taking a life, isn't it contradictory to the other Romans scripture?

Romans 12:19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord.

Furthermore, Christ's teachings of "love, not sacrifice" reinforces Romans 12:19. Romans 13 is the authority of the government, not the authority to go against God.

If you recall, any time a sin was committed a blood sacrifice was needed, be it from the person or an animal.

Far as I know the US is the only civilized, western country uphelding the CP. Why is that? Is it a treat from good old vigilante law? Last time I checked 32 out of 50 states were carrying out the CP. What are we gaining by putting people to death? Every time a judge is handing down a CP, well it ignites decades and decades and then a decade of petitions, motions, appeals etc etc. Lord knows how much tax payers are spending on appeals. A life term without parol is forgotten instantly and the killer will stay incarcerated to the end...no appeals. Point is, the states are spending so much money on this ancient punishment, money that could have been spent better.
Why? Because we're the last of the first-world nations to go with humanism as our national religious belief. Our roots are Christianity, and our beliefs of right and wrong held on as tradition for a while. All we're doing now is catching up with Europe in embracing PCism/humanism wholly.

Point is you're embracing it instead of God's word too. Congrats.
