It was many years ago and my then fiance and I were talking about our appointment to
talk to the local pastor to ask him to marry us. She was worried because he was a strict pastor
who had said in the past that Christians who marry should already know for sure that they
were saved. My church did not teach me that and I thought it presumtive of me to say
that I already knew that I was saved and I had no intention of lying to the him about it.

Well, we prayed about it and then we went to the appointment, but I was not going to lie
to the pastor. When we got there the only question he did ask was whether we were both
sure that the marriage was in God's will. That was a different matter and we both told him that we
were sure of that and on the appointed day he did marry us. It always helps to pray about
problems beforehand to the Lord.

Many years later I survived my near death illness thanks to answered prayer, and I now
do know for sure that I am saved. Thank you Jesus.
