I don't think that was the intention of the thread. I think it was a specific type of behavior some men engage in that the originator was condemning.

She does call godly men "a shining light," "a blessing," and worthy of "the highest respect."

The thread originator would like to thank this poster for giving her that benefit of doubt and accepting her reasons in proliferating her idea.

She was surprised because she believed he always took an obdurate stance of opprobrium towards her.
She doesn't accept braggadocio but now she is ''like whatever''.

She thanks him.

God bless you :D

i'm old enough to remember the beginning of the feminist movement and i would still go to the streets to fight for those rights. the feminist movement began because men were not ashamed say things like "what do all abused women have in common? they just wont listen." sadly, rather than equality, it became a demand that women adopt the very worst characteristics of the men.
...in 1922 a woman from New York City was arrested for lighting a cigarette on the street.

In 1928 Hill hired Bernays to expand the sales of his Lucky Strike cigarettes. Recognizing that women were still riding high on the suffrage movement, Bernays used this as the basis for his new campaign. He consulted Dr. A.A. Brill, a psychoanalyst, to find the psychological basis for womens smoking. Dr. Brill determined that cigarettes which were usually equated with men, represented torches of freedom for women.

Thank you everyone for posting in this thread.

The intention of this thread was to show people the other side of gender battles and how ridiculous it is. It really is.

We can make windows, tear down walls and ideals but if it doesn't glorify God what does it achieve? If someone wishes to tenaciously continue in a thinking, are we spending our time well, trying to convince them?

While I do believe, coming from India, that women's safety and empowerment are core issues and an essential need of the hour, I think the west has moved a step further.

Men and women should respect each other, more so as Christians.
We're not to think too highly of ourselves, and I would apply that to gender as well. God gives talents to different people and if God is for us, who can be against us? If God blesses us, I don't think someone's petty regressive ideas should hinder anyone.

That being said, as Christians we are to model ourselves after Christ. There is no male, nor female, nor Jew nor Greek in Christ. However we have husbands and wives, and thank God , we have been given guidelines on how to deal with that! :D

So I think this thread has run its course. There's another thread on feminism on this forum but I think I am going to take a break on that as well. I believe actions speak louder than words. So instead of debating grumpy old men, for a Christian woman the world is out there to prove herself.
And when she finds the man, she would submit to, to honour Christ her Lord, he would be a very lucky man.

Likewise any Christian man who honours God, loves his wife and takes care of the needs of his family deserves to be respected and honoured as well.

And I am sure the reward God gives is more precious than empty words from others.

It's time to move on. I asked a moderator to close this thread.

God bless you.
