I'm not one to put too much thought into dreams or interpretations, but this dream was different and felt different.

I was in a living room setting but immediately felt like the gravity had been increased. Hard to keep my head up, but I felt the urge to move towards the door. As I opened the door, I remembered an extremely dark entity trying to push its way into the room. It got extremely heavy at this point, and a clash between the dark and rooms light. It was a horrible tension, and I couldn't hardly stand, but even in my dream, my faith came forth. I remember immediately praying to Jesus and yelling His name.

I then woke up in a semi-conscious state only to realize I was invoking the name of Jesus like I was in the dream but vocally in real life. After doing so twice, I woke up completely, my heart racing, and it took me a while before going back to sleep.

I do not dream hardly ever, or at least dreams I can remember, but this one was like none I have ever had.

I thought it was interesting, to say the least so I would share it.

That's happened to me too.
My guess is that it's the rare occasions of sleep apnea. The lack of O2 increases cortisol levels/ stress hormones. That makes the mind prone towards negative thoughts. The distress subconsciously seems like a threat because it is a physical threat to lack oxygen. Then I would sometimes have a hard time verbalizing/ speaking because of apnea. Then calling out to Jesus and waking immediately gasping for air was my clue that was happening. If I remember correctly, it occured more frequently while sleeping on my back.

I can't speak to your experience, but that was my own evaluation. I think it's probably just as useful as a sleep "study" at the University.
Everyone who goes is sold on the idea they need a CPAP machine. I'll just sleep on my side instead.

Yes, something similar happened to me awhile ago where I made the conscious effort in my nightmare to yell out JESUS and my nightmare ended.

Stay in the light and don't wonder into darkness?!?!

I like to think dreams have meaning and try to make sense of them, but only God knows what they mean.

The spiritual truth of the dream complements our reality with spiritual warfare.

The demon could only knock but not enter as the room was filled with light. Where there is light, the darkness must vacate the space. Feeling urged to move towards the door, it must have been a significant enough threat that I needed to meet it at this barrier between the void of light and dark. The weight and tension remind me that without Jesus, we have no hope of resisting evil. It was crushing me as I could barely hold my head up. The clash between the light and darkness was like the flashes of lightning fighting off the night, only to duel between the space to illuminate the dark or for the dark to occupy where the light ceased to be.

My only instinct was to proclaim Jesus. Nothing else came to mind in this moment of crushing. I had no thought that I could fight within my own will or strength.

I woke up with that final thought.
The forces of evil will attack, but thd light always prevails. Darkness cannot occupy the source and radiance of light. The source is the Holy Spirit that occupies the space within. The barrier not being a door to allow the demon in but to allow the warrior to go out. To be sent or go forth. The urge being called to go forth and do not fear evil, for evil is afraid of the one living in us. Only a warrior equipped with the whole Armor of God can stand against such an enemy.

I do not see the doctrine of Christian deliverance ministries as being accurate theology.

Dreams are often based on the things you are frequently in contact with. Find a quiet place and spend some time taking an inventory of the people and things you have around you. When you identify the bad, purge them from your surroundings. I like to use Philippians 4:8, "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things".

Possibly human origin dreams but dreams in the Bible that came from God we're not just of frequent contact.

The parents of Jesus we're warned in a dream to flee to Egypt. This was a direct message.

Peter on the roof had a dream that wasn't as direct but had to be interpreted which led him to Cornelius.

Pharaoh with Joseph had a dream about future events that Joseph had to interpret.

All had a message but some more clear than others.

Before we get too far astray, let's understand the difference between a dream and a word from God. A word from God will have its basis in scripture. A dream is just as I described earlier.

Example. I was struggling with a job that I loved and my health. I had to drive 80 miles one way every day and I still loved it. I dreamed frequently of leaving the job. I also dreamed frequently about a cure for my epilepsy. Dreams sent to apply for several jobs closer to home. I got none of them. I prayed for God to intervene. He did. All the way home from work these verses.

Php 4:11 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.
Php 4:12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.
Php 4:13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

That evening one of my employees from my old job met me on the way into church with this greeting. "Your old job is open for you. You are going to apply." I did apply. I got the job and enjoyed every day of it. God provided me a job close to home, and a medication that controlled my seizures for the next fifteen years. He did it through an unlikely meeting (I wasn't going to church, but I couldn't stay home. My messenger had come out of the church to get something from her car.) and a few words of almost unrelated scripture.

As I said earlier. Make sure that your dreams are not the product (as they usually are) of your usual surroundings.

I don't know if it was a Word from God or not. It doesn't matter in less it was crystal clear to be a Word from God. But it did inspire me with Biblical truths. So that's cool. It very well could be the fact that I just completed a 9+ page critique on a book describing how Christians can obtain demons. The book was written by a deliverance minister. But after reading the book, I found great error in much of his points. I'm in the review phase letting people read and check for errors. Also hoping they may find where I may need to improve the writing so it makes the greatest of impact.

I also found a LOT of issues with a few deliverance ministers. Someone asked me if I thought he had been possessed anytime anything happened in his life. He was a brand new believer who started following the wrong pastor instead of getting connected with a good local church. I told him to beware because some will blame the devil every time they get a sniffle. Sure enough he sent me a link to his sermons. The guy was focussed on demons 24/7. He used his services to "cast out demons" from his own congregation and told them they need an exorcism every week, just like he does.

That must make for a strange liturgical order. Does demon casting come before or after the offering? It could make a big difference in church finances.

It was at the end, AFTER their offering.
The funniest thing was what the pastor said about needing to have them frequently cast out of himself.

That wasn't lost on me and I was also a tad unnerved. I just didn't know how to make a joke out of it.
You would think it would precede communion too so they could partake worthily.

Could be a message or simply just a dream. Dreams in the Bible we're either direct or needed interpreting.

Today the Bible is the filter for all things. So use the Word to understand anything else outside of scripture.

This strange dream of his could also be caused by a lack of sleep. In April 2021, I didn't sleep well, and had a mental health breakdown at ~3:33 AM Thought that the 3:33 was a holy time to have a breakdown or something like a miracle, but was just a lack of sleep. So, my folks took me to the hospital, which I stayed for 3-4 days.

Here is the cool part though: One gal there had an IV machine pumping 333 mg/hr of medicine into her body. Her name was Esperanza. That's Spanish for hope. Another guy in his 20s with curly hair yelled "I AM" to me after I asked his name. That is one of God's many names. Kinda floored me that a guy with depression who didn't speak much said this. Maybe God spoke through him, so I prayed that he got better, and he hugged me with a warm hug. Felt like God was embracing me.

So, while my mental health breakdown in April wasn't a miracle, the two people in the hospital ward that I met after my breakdown seemed to be God speaking to me, to have hope. To this day, I feel that God gave me hope to improve myself, and better my mental health. So far, 2022 is going amazing, much better than 2018-2021. Honestly, 2022 is one of the best years in my life.
