I agree. My best friend is divorced. Not by choice. She came home early one day from work, and saw bags packed and saw her husband there. He looks at her and says, "Oh, I was trying to leave before you came back." He hands her a note and leaves.
What hurts me the most about this whole thing is this: She's had certain people from the church we grew up in (I'm not part of it any longer) scream at her in the face because she's a divorced woman.

Your friend is probably a nice and good soul... that kind that is scared of hurting peoples feelings... kinda like my best friend... and for some reason, because of that, people feel that they can do and say whatever the heck they want to them...
I got divorced... and not one person tried to do that to me... for the simple reason that they know what's going to happen if they do...
