I love my kids and enjoy watching them grow but I taught my son to pray and to bow his little head. So adorable and he will always remind me to pray by bowing his head before bed and grunt at me to talk to God. Such a blessing.

Children have such innocent souls, Jesus said to come to Him as a child.

Yes they do and teach me all the time to look at the world differently. They see the world in such a brighter light. And since they do not see evil but are still pure at heart, the world is beautiful. Kinda reminds me of Adam and Eve in the garden. Innocent and pure until they ate from the tree of Knowledge. Knowledge between good and evil.

I remember how my Mother and I would say prayers when it was my bedtime and I was very little.

I can only hope my children at least remember I tried my best to lead them to Christ because I will not force them to be baptized but I think that should be their decision. I can only hope my good moments out way the bad. I hate living in the flesh, everything is a battle between good and evil.

In my church most baptisms are infant baptisms, so I never had that decision to make. I do believe it is counterproductive to put too much pressure on a child to be "religious." At the same time, I think it is helpful to bring them up in the church, so that when they get older and want to go to church, they won't feel out of place.

I was the same way baptized as an infant and rededicated it or something when I was a young kid. But now as I am older I feel as if maybe I would chose to be baptized the meaning behind it would have helped me stay away from sinful acts in my teenage years. Thankfully God never stopped calling and one day I answered Okay God I am tired of this burden of sin and guilt. I felt him plainly as day saying, "Son I love you and I give you two choices. Follow me or don't because there is no in between. How could I deny my creator? It boiled down to one simple decision. Should I give my whole life to God or part of it which is basically nothing but a lukewarm decision.

Luke 14:25-33Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

The Cost of Following Jesus

25 Now great crowds were traveling with Him. So He turned and said to them: 26 “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his own father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, and even his own life—he cannot be My disciple. 27 Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.
28 “For which of you, wanting to build a tower, doesn’t first sit down and calculate the cost to see if he has enough to complete it? 29 Otherwise, after he has laid the foundation and cannot finish it, all the onlookers will begin to make fun of him, 30 saying, ‘This man started to build and wasn’t able to finish.’
31 “Or what king, going to war against another king, will not first sit down and decide if he is able with 10,000 to oppose the one who comes against him with 20,000? 32 If not, while the other is still far off, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace. 33 In the same way, therefore, every one of you who does not say good-bye to[f] all his possessions cannot be My disciple.

I want my kids to know that being a disciple is a choice and no easy choice. Your either all in or not. Too many churches I believe love to count hoe many people was saved. But too many people don't realize the burden. Yes this passage is extreme and can be misleading if not read with all the teaching of Jesus and his disciples. But the idea is you have two choices and serving God will not be easy but serving the world will be easy. So choose wisely. I want my kids to choose wisely so they understand the importance to choose God over the world. It's my job to lay that foundation while they are young.

I was very despairing for my young grandchildren a while back. My son and his wife are not raising them to be Christians, even though they were both raised to be! We don't live in the same city, and only see them about once every two months. I pray for them all daily of course, but it was killing me to see them not getting any Bible training.

Well, a few years later, they are 4 and 3, and we have been praying with them at night and meals, and we take them to a near by church, where I know a lot of the people. They sit for the song service, and then go and get Bible stories and some work sheets to take home.

Yesterday, they sat quietly for the whole song service. They enjoyed their Sunday School class, and the 3 year old had me reading more Bible studies at night. He is quite taken by the OT stories of King David. When I pray, they know to fold their hands and bow their heads without me saying anything, and they say "amen" at the end.

I know it is a ways from being saved, but it shows that grandparents can have influence on their spiritual journey of their grandchildren. I know my grandmother always read me Bible stories and prayed with me. However, she forced my parents to send me to Sunday School, even though it was on my own. I was worried about them not getting the memory verses and stories I did, by attending church throughout the year, and even singing in the children's choir.

God is faithful with our children and grandchildren! We do need to train them up, but God can work miracles even when the reinforcement is not always there. My son recently told me he has started believing in Jesus again, but he is just not into church - yet, I say!

Thank God for the little children!

My family doesn't believe; but I put my brother to sleep and we will pray together.

I don't think not being raised as a Christian should make him turn away from the truth; so I'm here to try to show him a different side than my parents do.
He doesn't go to church with me; my parents would not like if they found out any of us went to church, but I do try to make sure He sees God is looking out for him :)

Keep on fighting the good fight sister and remember no obstacle is greater than God. You are currently the only example of the word of God your brother and parents have. So always remember you are the light. Stand strong and with your faith and mountains will move. Jesus's mother didnt understand fully what Jesus was called to do. She figured he would be a King on earth at the time and not a sacrifice. You have great courage it is motivational thank you!
