Yea I been doing that whole silent thing for years. It’s not working. They would even call me “Christian” and joke prior to my conversion because of my vague sense of morality by not engaging conversation with them. If I ignore they lay it on heavier. I simply wind up being temped, after so much of it my mind begins to be polluted by their perverse thoughts. There is nowhere to run I’ve went through 4 sets of ear speakers simply wearing them 9hour days. I’ve had them invade my workspace. Literally seek me out to to tell me these filthy things or tell filthy jokes in front of me while I’m working, loud enough for a whole building to hear. I even had Satan use one individual to tempt me. It was entirely too coincidental to be anything else. Some 22 year old kid shows up with a coffee mug with women models on it. Vintage cup. Had to be something from the 1980s. Something that should have been long gone, thrown away in a landfill somewhere. It wasn’t enough he was drinking from it . Ow no, he wanted to come to me and make it a point to show me what a cool cup he got, literally waving it in the face of a guy who struggles with lust. I mean, are you kidding me? This kid also convinced he was saved, was Pentecostal and claims at the same time his wife uses Chakras and crystals. Satan was using that young man to harass me and had him deceived.
You may have to do more than be silent. Get assertive, set some boundaries. You have to let them know you're not in interested in playing along.

I used to work in an environment where there were a lot of immature young people. There was this one young woman who did little else than corner people and spread gossip. Finally one day I just said, why are you telling me all this? She didn't really know how to respond but she did quit gossiping to me. It doesn't take much, just be like a broken record that lets them know you've got better things to do.

And don't worry about if they're nominal Christians; that's not really your problem. You can pray for them, but I wouldn't lose a lot of sleep over them. God knows how to deal with people like that.

The other I don’t know. Lots of sexual perverse things come out of his mouth daily. I listened to this extremely large man make intentional sexual climax noises for 15 minutes straight loud enough to hear across the entire building. He literally thought it was boisterously hilarious as did almost everyone who heard it in my workplace.
I recommend reporting this type of sexual lewdness and harassment to HR.

Company isn’t set up that way. No HR. The General manager on down is pretty much ok with such lewdness. The President of the company is well aware but wont address it. About the only harassment accusations that are taken halfway seriously are ones that come from women employees but those are generally met with eye rolls and don’t go very far. Guys are just harassed even more because now you are “thin skinned”

I’ve invited my Church pastor and Elders to pray for me and sent my prayer requests to my congregations prayer team to pray on the situation. I’m about ready to ask if the Elder board could include my workplace in their community prayer walks they do. Maybe even ask if one or two are gifted to perform exorcisms on an entire corporation and its building, rebuking sexual demons 😆

I wish it were that easy. A new job it would be because Management partakes in such behavior and is right there watching being just as verbally abusive and crude at times as those under them. Most have quit because of this company culture. But it’s also a career culture. Hard to report behavior they learn from their boss. They only see complaints of harassment as having thin skin and then you get the “hurt feelers” report laid on you.
I definitely would not go that route anyway. As Christians, we are called to shine as lights in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation (Philippians 2:15). Light shines the brightest in a dark environment. If all the Christians leave the dark environments, then all hope is lost.

You should come and work at my job for just one day. I joke around sometimes, but I am being dead serious in what I am about to say. I work with some of the nastiest people to have ever walked the face of this earth. Lots of them. And I am not the only employee there who believes what I just said.

Some thoughts.

There are always other Christians in the work place. If you don't know who they are watch how others act.

Don't spend work time sharing the gospel one on one. Let your work ethic share it for you. Your actions speak more than your mouth. If someone wants to know about Christ, meet them after work.

Wear God in your heart. Don't look for God in your coworkers.

Walk away from gossip sessions.

Set an example for others. Don't criticize the actions of others.

Remember. You work for the company. God demands that give the company your very best.

Ok, thank you.
I appreciate your compassion for the lost coworkers. Everyone needs the gospel. It's rare when anyone is willing and courageous enough to share Christ though.

Everyone is different.
I don't know if these guys actually hate God or if they are simply wicked. I've worked with guys who threatened to rape my family and were full blown reprobates. I have no patience for them. If your coworkers make those type of statements about violence towards you, yours, or others, I'd report it to the owner right away and also follow up by making a formal written dated statement. If they are trying to get under your skin, that is often the attitude of nominal religionists who gang up, thinking they are asserting themselves like a dog marking a tree. Again, I wouldn't lose sleep over them, but take it to the Lord as a serious matter and you still might want to take it to the owner.

I have seen really wicked people get saved, like outlaw bikers, but it's not common. Usually God has to hurt them real bad so the only place to look for help is up. The typical worldly person usually doesn't want to hear about anything that might point to their sins, so they mock the messenger. You could pray for God to show them their mortality and give you an opportunity to share the gospel at a time when their heart is tender. That sometimes happens, but you will likely be most effective and good at it if you are already witnessing with friends from church. If you are not attending a soul winning church, then I encourage you to find one within driving distance. Make sure they have the right gospel on their website and pastor explains it clearly of course. Ask what time of the week they go soul winning and if they have someone else you can go with. The following should ideally be done in pairs, one being the silent partner and the other leading. Once you feel comfortable, then normally you take turns. It's the best way to get the gospel to many in my opinion. Don't worry about the fake "Christians", JWs and Mormons giving it a bad name. Jesus addressed those who did, yet still told His disciples to go. . The New Testament Believers were soul winners and the fundamental Baptists go soul winning. I haven't seen other evangelicals do it lately although there's the push to get the lost to church. That's not enough. My last was an evangelical non-denominational church, but the pastor's weren't open to soulwinning or starting an outreach ministry even though it was following an Andy Stanley mega church format.. When the pastor preached against using the word Saved, because it might make someone feel uncomfortable or lost, I took that as a reason to go.

There Are all kinds of places of outreach, but it helps to find a like minded pastor. Let me know if I can be of help . I have lots of very good material on the subject. Perhaps a list of churches in your area that you can look into if you like.
Soul Winning demonstration.

Example #1

Example #2

The guys at work might not want to hear the Word. Then again, they might be open to an interesting Bible story on occasion. . It might not lead them to the Lord, but at least plant seed . They probably won't be very familiar, but everyone likes a good story. If they don't like that, no big deal, just memorize verses and look forward to weekly soul winning times where you meet and go out from
church.
@FollowingtheWay

And here we have the heretic, Steven Anderson, in his own heretical words.

From "Example 1", after Heretic Anderson quotes Acts 16:30-31, or beginning at the 4:16 mark in the video:

Heretic Anderson: "Does it say that you have to be baptized?"

The ignorant man: "No."

Heretic Anderson: "Does it say that you have to give up any of your sins, or to be willing to give up sin? Like turn your life around...turn over a new leaf?"

The ignorant man: "It doesn't say that."

Well, let's read the passage, shall we?

Acts 16:30-33

"And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway."

Obviously, and to the chagrin of Heretic Anderson and his beguiled followers, part of "the word of the Lord" which Paul and Silas spoke to this Philippian jailer and his household had to do with water baptism because he, the Philippian jailer, and all of his household were water baptized straightway or immediately after Paul and Silas had finished speaking to them.

Also, we can know, of a certainty, that part of the word of the Lord that Paul spoke to these people included the need to repent and to bring forth works worthy of repentance. How can we know? Because Paul himself told us so right here:

Acts 26:19-20

"Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision: But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance."

Do you see how heretics like Anderson work?

But wait!

There's more!

At the 8:10 mark of the same video, Heretic Anderson says:

"Even if you did something awful like kill somebody, or even kill yourself, okay, God will not take away your salvation from you."

Nice.

Christians can kill other people, and even themselves, and still be saved.

If you are planning on preaching this type of garbage to your co-workers, then may the Lord Jesus Christ himself rebuke you.

Steven Anderson is an absolute plague upon true Christianity, and so are his beguiled disciples.

Sharing the gospel doesn’t effect my work productivity . I have gleeming performance reviews from my boss year after year. That’s non issue here.
I don’t think that’s a proper application of biblical principles today. At face value sounds reasonable, sounds easy to follow, has that real appeal of sit down shut up and don’t be a target feel. Go along to get along . but what’s behind it? Is it the heart of a warrior God? Or passivity and cowardice in the guise of obedience?

It is only about 30 minutes long, and it is about a Christian being harassed for his faith, and how he responds to it. I think that you will both enjoy it and glean something positive from it.

I’ve thought about using the jokes to steer to God conversation but they are quicker and wittier than I am and the jokes just come back dirtier. As soon as I try the joke route the group disperses and comes back later when I’m not around or preoccupied with my job.
I can see why that particular joke route is not working, but it can work in general.

For example, I mentioned before that I really only have 2 or 3 real friends at work, and one of them is a woman from another department. In case you have not noticed from other threads, I do have a pretty silly sense of humor, and this woman thinks that I am hilarious. On top of that, she appreciates the fact that I will even joke around with her because she realizes, possibly even more than I do, how nasty and horrible most of our co-workers truly are. Through humor, she and I became friends, and then we both began opening up about our own lives to each other, and we quickly found that we had some major things in common. The biggest being major problems with our own family members.

Anyhow, that has morphed into conversations about a range of topics, and she, to my surprise, has mentioned to me that she is concerned as to whether she will go to heaven or hell when she dies. She has also mentioned Jesus a time or two, but I do not believe that she is truly a Christian yet. That door is open, and I am trying to go through it, slowly but surely.

Also, I have encountered several people over the years who have endured unbelievable abuse at the hands (or other body parts) of others, including, at times, their own family members. I have found that humor brings a sense of comfort and trust to them, and they then open to me, and I am able to minister the gospel to them. It is kind of like abused children who are given therapy dogs to make them feel comfortable and happy. Oftentimes, after spending time with the animals, the child will open up about their hurts, and healing can come.

Finally, there are always going to be the hard-hearted among us, and nothing is really ever going to work with them. We have to know, through prayer and Holy Ghost discernment, when to press forward in our evangelistic attempts and when to just shake the dust off our feet and move on.

Btw, thanks for starting this thread. It is, in my estimation, one of the best threads that I have seen since joining here. Again, God bless you for caring about the souls of others.

Ecclesiastes 11:4-6

"He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap. As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all. In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good."

Try not to focus on "the wind", or "the clouds", or the stormy conditions at work. Instead, place your focus upon the incorruptible seed of God's word by which men, women, and children can truly be "born again" (1 Peter 1:23), and scatter that seed whenever (in "the morning" or in "the evening") and wherever you can. As Solomon said, "you know not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good".

As I look back over my life, some of the most powerful responses that I have ever seen to God's word were when I shared the most simplest truths with people, which I honestly thought would have little to no effect, and then watched in amazement as God brought forth great increase from the same. Remember, we are laborers together with God (1 Corinthians 3:9). Your job is to plant or water the incorruptible seed of God's word, and God's job is to seek to bring forth the increase from it. Just tell people the truth, and then the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth, has something to work with or something to try to bring forth an increase from.

Btw, I am preaching to myself here. In fact, after posting on this thread yesterday, I went looking for someone who I believe the Lord wants me to minister the gospel to. I did not find him yesterday, but, Lord willing, I will find him soon so that I might practice what I preach myself.

Love it. conversations haven’t quite reached that fever pitch yet but the antagonists statements and attitude in that film are eerily familiar to what I’m up against . it gave some encouragement and gave some things to pray on in preparation for the next encounter . Thanks! It’s no accident you posted that for me today. God bless you brother.

If it’s a legitimate company, someone has oversight.

Keep going up the ladder of authority, step-by-step; someone will eventually care and intervene.

If no one in the company does anything, organizations outside the company who can shut it down will do something.

Ow there is oversight but I think the ones who do are about ready to retire and don’t want to upset an entire company. I think the consensus is that it’s hard enough to find employees that stick around so they don’t want to run anyone off… even the toxic ones.
