I can talk about it if I feel it is relevant and it is about my country. So, yeah. I will speak what I want to. A thread can be continued at any time.

You have conveniently left out so many others who continued the conversation long after it was over.

Tell me the story slowly,
That I may take it in—
That wonderful redemption,
God’s remedy for sin;
Tell me the story often,
For I forget so soon,

The “early dew” of morning
Has passed away at noon.
Tell me the same old story
When you have cause to fear.
That this world's empty glory
Is costing me too dear.
Yes, and when the world's glory
Is dawning on my soul,
Tell me the old, old story,
"Christ Jesus makes thee whole."

Thanks for showing your true colors and getting butt hurt over a simple statement. ❄️

You were the one to necro the thread, not those after you. Hence pointing it out to you.

healthandhappiness was the one who bumped it as far as I can tell. (perhaps justahumanbeings original post was removed though

Personally I think it makes more sense to link back to an older thread depending but ironically I found a screenshot of a spoof magic card "Thread necromancer" on my HDD from 2012 today (when it had entirely left my mind) and I sort of agree with the humor of it.

Card description:

Post must be inane
and offer nothing to the discussion
on any thread not on the first page
"I agree"

In this case I don't think this applies. I'm not a big fan of necro'ing myself but outside locking old threads I don't see a real solution since checking post dates, "last seen" dates, guest/banned status, etc. isn't something everyone picks up on right away. I hesitate to even bump this thread over two weeks later but the language of your reply is a bit harsh and while I'm not sure we get along all that well really, I don't like cases of mistaken identity.

It's a small thing to be sure and I didn't "want" to say anything yday but the picture sort of "synchronistically" suggested that I should regardless.

we have plenty of guests that can read a post (and potentially benefit) regardless of whether someone quoted is here or not. Not saying one way or the other in this instance

not trying to stir up anything btw. Take care.

I like your Christ , I do not like your christians. Your christians are so unlike your Christ. Mahatma Gandhi
This quote is an eye opener if we allow it to be, sadly the world feels this way.
What do you think we as christians need to change to be a better witness for Christ? Im talking individually and or as a whole. Please lets not be mean spirited.
When i became a Christian i never made that decision to become a follower of Christians.. I made that decision to become a follower of the LORD Jesus Christ..

Mahatma Gandhi and thousands like Him who use ""Christians"" as an excuse to reject Jesus will find out on the day of judgement their excuse will not save them from Gods judgement.. Not being mean just being truthful.. Human beings are imperfect but the LORD Jesus is perfect.. His will be done..

I have H&H on ignore.
My original words were "You're over 10 years late to respond. And the person you're responding to is no longer an active member". Not exactly harsh.
The response I got to this neutral statement was antagonistic, hence my response back.

The best way to not stir things up is to let them lie dead, not dredging it back up to challenge people.
I had forgotten all about this interaction until you brought it back up.

You sound like the necro-thread police. Interesting convos have come out of old threads and for someone to be a consistent kill-joy is getting ⏰ old. This should be explained to others in a polite manner, imo

Well it's alive again either way. Mods don't lock them (which arguably might be best) so it's going to keep happening regardless.

With this one though it's actually gone somewhere (thus where "arguably" comes in). Most of the other times I see a gravebumped thread it dies almost immediately and the poster joined quite recently.

It's not unreasonable for forum etiquette to not be intuitive for everyone. This thread is about as old as my time with internet forums lol, it's a learned behavior for most I would think.

Since the topic is "current" now... This quote once caused me much food for thought and today it is tempered by what has already been shared (the sordid details I could have lived without). I wonder if the "all truth is God's truth" line might apply. Plenty of secular quotes that can be appropriated to the edification of the church with all due caution.

What's the crime here as there is no rule on this and many people have participated in them. So what if a few people get involved with an old thread, they must have something to say about it. I've seen newbies get scolded and not only newbies do this😂 If it's such a big deal the Mods would jump in. This whole issue blows my mind, is there anything free of intolerance anymore?

We all have the option to ignore whatever we wish. So to those who wish to continue, go right ahead.

New members probably start up old threads mostly.. They may search for a topic and find an old one and add their response thus sparking more people to respond.. It's not a big issue to me if someone pumps up and old thread.. Sometimes it is interesting going over old topics..

Resurrecting dead old threads is like archeology.
Sometimes it’s a very nice find. Sometimes it’s nothing.

I find old threads interesting, especially to see the members who were here long ago,
some somewhat known and fondly remembered, and others complete unknowns.
