Just seen somebody badmouthing christian hip hop and trying to make it look like the enemy so heres my reply a list of awsome christian hip hop that has helped me grow daily as a christian man. The world is full of evil but you cant roll over and let satan own an entire genre of hip hop. not cool dont be such a roll over!

I don't even enter these arguments anymore. I've been listening to Christian metal for 23 years, and have taken flak for it from the beginning. 23 years later nothing has changed. And i know Christian rock was being attacked before i was saved. So any form of subculture Christian music is always going to have people attacking it. Few change their mind. And the ones that do often take years to change, and have various methods and reasons for changing.

that being said theres probably some bad christian music out there i just havent run into it yet. theres some stuff that sounds horrible but the message is still there lol

Is it okay to dislike hip-hop, just for the way it sounds?

Too frighteningly reminiscent of disco for me.
(if you weren't there for the 70s, you can't know the terror! lol)

But you children carry on, and listen to what you like. :)

Thanks for the post. I actually don't listen to much Christian hip hop but I want to explore these many different arenas of Christian music. God speaks to us in so many ways and one of the main ways I've found for myself is through music. I'll definitely check out the links you've given :)

My philosophy is this:
If it looks like a chicken,
if it clucks like a chicken,
if it lays eggs like a chicken,
if it runs around with other chickens,
if it has marks on it like the other chickens,
then it's obviously a chicken.

Jon, thanks for the suggestions. My local church is doing two Christian hip-hop based night services in the near future. This may give us some ideas. Cheers, mate!
