So, first...I am a music junkie. It's rare that I hear a song I like and can't immediately place the group. And while I am saved, I don't care for a lot of the popular Christian music out there...so when I hear a Christian song that strikes me as awesome, I HAVE to find it.

Anyway...I was driving in the car the other day, listening to a christian college station and a song came on that I loved right away. Of course, the kids were being loud and I couldn't make out much of the lyrics, but the music itself was awesome.

Here's what I know about it...and if anyone can PLEASE tell me who it is, you will have made my day.

* I guess it's a "rock" song. I would almost call it electro-pop/rock in a sense, as it had synths and a very melodic piano/keyboard riff throughout. It SORT OF reminded me of Depeche Mode, but not really. I thought at first it was maybe Mute Math but the voice wasn't right for it.

*It had male vocals

*The only lyrics I could make out were along the lines of the following:
"Motion" and "ocean" were used a few times. (Might have been "notion").
At some point, I am pretty sure he said "Our lives are intertwined" (or maybe it was "our souls are intertwined...not sure).
There was a breakdown near the end where the music stopped; during this the guy sang "I am yours and you are mine."

I tried Google but when I type in those lyrics, all I get is the Hillsong "Oceans" lyrics. And that's not it at all.

I'm at a loss here. Someone please HELP!

Ha! No, but thanks for that flashback. I used to love those guys. Nope, this was a more modern sort of sound. I have a feeling it's something that's been released in the last few years. The station I hard it on tends to play nothing but new Christian tunes.

Thanks, though!

ahh ok so its a christian Band. have you got an android device? or Ipad, you could download 2 apps that may help, one called soundhound, other one called Trackid. you can record the tune, and the apps will get you the sourse, the name of track or band and were to download, or you can even hum the tune into the apps and it still finds the song you may look for. God bless Hope you find it ................

Thanks guys, but no, that's not it, either. This was a sort of upbeat song. Lots of synths and droning sort of sounds. HArd to explain. This is driving me insane...

Try downloading Trackid, thats good, simular to soundhound, or you could try Shazaam, you can hum the tune into those too. and will even find songs by your humming to the tune lol Hope you find it,

Maybe an Owl City track? They stick out for the electro pop rock sound.

use an app like soundhound to identify it?

another thought, if you know the timeframe and radio station you were listening to, go on the station's website and see if they archive their shows

i can relate to the frustration, i am ALWAYS running into songs that I want to immediately identify and save when I'm out and about, and I've taken to texting myself as many lyrics or numbered melodies as I can remember so I can dig around online at my earliest convenience.
(or on a couple of occasions, i immediately make a call to a sibling or close friend, skip the pleasantries, and just start humming to see if they can name the tune for me :D)

Good luck!

No track listing on the station's website.

Not Owl City. Waaaay too poppy.

Thanks for trying to help, guys!

FOUND IT (thanks to Shazam and catching the last 20 seconds of it on the radio again).

It's "A Drop in the Ocean" by Cadets
