He's very serious. Many CoC people are thoroughly brainwashed, and it takes years for them to begin to think for themselves... if they ever do.
I'm not brain washed I do all things through the authority in scripture !

I'm not the perso who wrote all the commands and rules in the New Testament! Are you saying we are under no law or the old law?
Aren't we under grace and not under the Law?

It is grace of God to forgive us rather then in the old law it was as if they justified by there own sacrifices .,,,, If we have to repent to be saved (which we do) then doesn't that mean we don't do those things which to me sounds like rules (a.k.a. Law)

well, this was interesting.

our hands are musical instrument, folks. we gotta chop them off now. *sarcasm*
Don't forget the feet!

Sometimes I have a sinus that whistle's, does that count?

That's just so, um, wow, I don't know whether I'm more sad or angry.
Few things *bleeps me off worse than false teaching/domination/legalism done in Jesus' name.
The RC institution has been doing it for centuries, and are so established and entrenched in so many parts of society that it's unlikely to change any time soon.
Then there's cults like JW, Mormon, etc., but these other 'churches' that just pose as part of the larger 'protestant' umbrella and keep people in bondage, using Jesus as their reason, is just so dastardly.

I am frustrated.... I don't get how people can read the bible and the commands it gives and call my church oppression ... Narrow is the way and few there be that find it ..... If the bible is all easy and nice and just you don't have to do anything then how is it hard to find?

Very easy. We read the bible and see the liberty that Christ has set us free, your church reads and sees a list of commands that they hang around the necks of it's members like a yoke of bondage.

If you want to sit on your hands, not move your feet, not play an instrument, by all means, worship the Lord as you think He would have you.

I go to different churches, and they have different worship styles, and in one you'll see some people lifting their hands, singing full volume, sometimes with tears of joy, others may be more reserved, some may be quietly praying and tears may be of a different kind.

Usually though, everyone's worshipping from the heart in thanksgiving to Jesus for His gift, and it's free but not disorderly or confusing, as has been seen on TV with rolling in the aisles and barking like chickens. Or is it clucking like hounddogs.

Other churches are more 'structured' with a liturgical style, church organ and standard hymns, that's fine too.

But the problem arises when a church is dictating worship laws to believers, and instead of worshipping God in Spirit and Truth because they're saved and free, they're worshipping according to the rules of the church elders in fear of God's anger or being ousted from the community.

What's worse is when their members judge or condemn other Christians as being unchristian because they don't do it their way.

Again, go worship according to your conscience, or the dictates of your churches rules, but if you think you can come on this website and tell a bunch of us born-again, bible-loving, set-free believers in Jesus how not to celebrate His victory for us, you're barking up the wrong tree, and you're just going to cause debate and division, exactly NOT what our Savior commands!

Church elders don't make the rules .... Are we reading the same bible? How can you read the bible and not see the commands? God set forth commands! If we hear the word believe the word repent of our sins and confess Jesus before men and get baptized (all that's needed to be saved) and we sin after are we saved?

HBRCB, I love it. And you deny brainwashing?
When's the last time you guys had dinner on the grounds with the Methodists.... or even with one of the "liberal" congregations of "The Church?" (To non-CoC.... "The Church" is the way they refer to their particular denomination..... However, they staunchly deny it is a denomination. They are positive they are the only true church, and that they (and ONLY they) honestly were established in 33-AD in the 2nd Chapter of Acts.)

I give up. This is all too instrumental.

THEY were, but they know you and I weren't. Just ask him.
Okay, good idea, I'll give it a shot.

Dear Sir Derp,

If you get a moment between sets of mime-worship, could you kindly answer a question regarding the church you say you attend?
Are they actually the one true church on earth established in Acts,
or should we look for another?

This topic has been covered in detail many times. It's OK to have music in church with instruments. It's not so bad if you think about it.

Still like that old time rock 'n' roll
That kind of music just soothes the soul
I reminisce about the days of old
With that old time rock 'n' roll

Revelation 22:18 (typo) says "for I testify unto every man that hearth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book;" (KJV) it goes onto in verse 19 to condemn taking from this book........... I'm new to CC how do I add someone's previous comment to your message?

Give me scripture and I will be convinced
You can't give scripture to prove your point!!!
I liked what Willie said.

The Bible didn't say we could use cars, so many many Christians sin every day

The Bible didn't say we could use toothbrushes so everyone (I hope lol) is sinning.

I'm sorry but this is just plain ridiculous

i play the violin. i can play the guitar. there have been times i'm playing the guitar, and God gives me words to sing.

i'm also a member of the music team at my local assembly. i have seen how Holy Spirit ministers to individuals during music time (as we sing and play instruments). it's a beautiful thing.

Jesus has set us free :D
