Greetings,

This is my first post on Christian Chat.

I need help getting feedback on music we released as an album this past week. The name of the album is Pastoral Psalms and it features the text of 10 of the biblical psalms set to new melodies accompanied by acoustic instrumentation in contemporary musical style. Please listen to Psalm 23 which is linked here... The David/Asaph Project Psalm 23. Please note that the first minute of the song is a peaceful guitar introduction... and the words enter in after the guitar intro.

After listening, could you please provide your impressions of the song? Do you think that other people may want to hear this? Whatever feedback you can provide is much appreciated.

Thank you!

Update to the above:

Feedback received from others indicated that the guitar intro was too long. The song sample has been modified to start immediately with the words of Psalm 23 (set to a new melody). The musical style is contemporary and acoustic, featuring guitar, bass, violin, viola, and cello.

Please visit the following link to listen to Psalm 23... The David/Asaph Project Psalm 23

Blessings,
David

Drums or some form of percussion would be nice, and you could probably be a bit more upbeat on the tempo and strings part. Maybe go with guitars and a banjo perhaps and speed up the lyrics. Otherwise I can't see this going much farther than say an offetory song during a traditional church service. Im sorry but its not contemporary in my view. The musician is great, it just needs a tweak.

Thank you for the feedback, and for your insightful impressions and suggestions.

I would be honored and humbled if this music were to be used in an offertory.

Have a great day.

Blessings,
David
