I'm looking for a type of arabic/syrian style of music, it's a very emotive and deep, moody kind of music. This particular kind has a female vocalist singing long notes usually with some strings or something, in half tones or quarter tones, and it is so relaxing. It is kind of otherwordly, ethereal and subtle. Very echoed, and very few instruments. Floating. Could be seen as being extremely sad, to the point that it just does something. I would imagine the setting for such a type of music would be a moment monumentally moving. I've never really experienced another kind of music that does what this kind does.

It is like a woman just singing long notes. 'aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaoooooooooooooooaaaaaaa'

Here's the first example, it's actually the perfect example of what I'm looking for, but unfortunately it might not work in the US though, but it's the only example I could find that matches perfectly.

Go to 1hr and 5 secs and that's the exact kind I mean.

BBC iPlayer - Top Gear: Series 21: Episode 2

Here's the second example but it is nowhere near as strong or emotive, because it's not subtle enough and the vocal isn't breathy enough. The notes are too straight and the tone too clean.

Man of Steel Official Teaser Trailer #1 - Superman Movie - Russell Crowe V.O. (2013) HD - YouTube

This third one has sort of the right feel and subtly but the notes in this one are more unnerving and minor (like a horror movie) rather than half-tone/arabic/transcendently sad.

The Red Violin - Anna's Theme - YouTube

Finally this last one has the right note values, like it uses half-tones, and the kind of voice is perfect, the notes just aren't long enough. But this is still a great example.

If someone can give me the name of this genre of music, or what this particular style is called, I would really appreciate it.
