Paulinus of Aquileia in 796

Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est.
Congregavit nos in unum Christi amor.
Exsultemus, et in ipso jucundemur.
Timeamus, et amemus Deum vivum.
Et ex corde diligamus nos sincero.
Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est.
Simul ergo cum in unum congregamur:
Ne nos mente dividamur, caveamus.
Cessent iurgia maligna, cessent lites.
Et in medio nostri sit Christus Deus.
Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est.
Simul quoque cum beatis videamus,
Glorianter vultum tuum, Christe Deus:
Gaudium quod est immensum, atque probum,
Saecula per infinita saeculorum. Amen.

English Translation
Where charity and love are, God is there.
Love of Christ has gathered us into one.
Let us rejoice in Him and be glad.
Let us fear, and let us love the living God.
And from a sincere heart let us love one.
Where charity and love are, God is there.
At the same time, therefore, are gathered into one:
Lest we be divided in mind, let us beware.
Let evil impulses stop, let controversy cease.
And in the midst of us be Christ our God.
Where charity and love are, God is there.
At the same time we see that with the saints also,
Thy face in glory, O Christ our God:
The joy that is immense and good, Unto the
World without end. Amen.

We think of anything latin as “Catholic” Some of the greatest worship hymns and writings are alien to us but should not be!

I have found that many Catholic Saints loved Him.

All the ones past and current that love Him are my brothers and sisters. Same spiritual dna in our blood.

I supported the idea in the non denom church i used to go to not to rail against CC because there were those that loves Him. The example i gave was Bishop Sheen and Bishop Barron. Bishop Barron sounds like an undercover protestant! That was very much against groupthink! That and other things eventually got me violently shoved out of the church by the head pastor building with the words “i never want to see your face again”

My advice is to say the right thing, no matter what groupthink is or what it cost, with reverence and humility (i got challenged on that part by the Spirit, sorry Master)

Correct doctrine is important but even more important is that i am wheat and not the chaff.

I want to be like mary magdalene and the publican, who knew they were sinners and saved by grace. In addition i want to enter by the narrow gate and obey Him because i love Him.

Philippians 3:14

I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 7:14

Enter in by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the. way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter in by it.

I have heard from my very long time 40+years trusted friend who was a presbyterian, now oca, that they the oca is composed of believers that are pretty serious about virtue, reading the saints, and he loves his confessor who is a real sheppard to him.

That sure sounds attractive to me! Haha turncoat protestant?

Eastern Orthodox Faith is a bit different from American Christianity but as I’ve said before, what unites us all is Jesus and everyone is trying in their own ways to show their faith for Him.
So I don’t judge like some do in regards to interpretations, details or customs but I see as all as The Bride of Christ.
