Yes well location had a lot to do with the 80s... as in scenes were local to geography. Networking happened but nothing like today. For the average young person, there was no Internet and if you wanted to communicate with someone you had to use a pay phone or the U.S. postal service. My experience was that Los Angeles, Hollywood, and Huntington Beach were straight up crackin. Mississippi, not so much.

wish I grew up during the 80s :(

I have a playlist that has 50 Instrumentals/50 Hymns Songs. I have a lot of Andrew Schmoldt Hymns, Acappella, Adoration and Hallal Music in the mix.

Don Henley - The Heart of the Matter (Live at Farm Aid 1990)

This song was on my heart this morning. A beautiful song, beautifully rendered live.
I saw him perform live here in Vancouver right around this time :) Here are the words as sung:

I got the call today, that I didn't want to hear, but I knew that it would come.
An old, true friend of ours was talkin' on the phone, she said you'd found someone.
And I thought of all the bad luck and the struggles we went through and how I lost me and you lost you.
What are these voices outside love's open door, make us throw off our contentment and beg for something more?

I'm learning to live without you now, but I miss you sometimes.
And the more I know, the less I understand, all the things I thought I knew, I'm learning again.

I've been tryin' to get down to the heart of the matter but my will gets weak and my thoughts seem to scatter
But I think it's about forgiveness, forgiveness, even if, even if you don't love me anymore.

Ah, these times are so uncertain, there's a yearning undefined..... and people filled with rage
We all need a little tenderness; how can love survive in such a graceless age?
Now the trust and self-assurance that lead to happiness they're the very things we kill, I guess
Ah, pride and competition cannot fill these empty arms and the work I put between us doesn't keep me warm

I'm learning to live with out you now, but I miss you, baby
And the more I know, the less I understand all the things I thought I'd figured out
I have to learn again

I've been trying to get down
to the heart of the matter
But everything changes
and my friends seem to scatter
But I think it's about forgiveness, forgiveness
Even if, even if you don't love me anymore.

There are people in your life who've come and gone,
They let you down, you know they've hurt your pride.
You better put it behind you baby, 'cause life goes on.
You keep carryin' that anger, it'll eat you up inside baby.

I've been trying to get downto the heart of the matter
But my will gets weak and my thoughts seem to scatter
But I think it's about forgiveness, forgiveness
Even if, even if you don't love me

I've been tryin' to get down to the heart of the matter
Because the flesh will get weak and the ashes will scatter.
So, I'm thinkin' about forgiveness, forgiveness
Even if , even if you don't love me.

Forgiveness, forgiveness,
forgiveness, forgiveness,
forgiveness, forgiveness,
Even if, even if you don't love me.

I have this song over n over in my head. I turn the lights off in my room n dance to it. Of course I have someone in mind - that makes the song so much better. I wanna jump to this with that someone.

You are my angel
come from way above
to bring me love

neutralize every man alive

love you love you love you love you

Yea sorry guys about the neutralizing thing but...oh well :)

who you say "love you" then?
I doubt if God would like "the neutralizing of men" or "neutralizing" it is not the same like "kill"? :confused:/sorry my grade of knowledge of English/
