I'm really glad the people I work at in the ministry do not judge me hardcore for listening to heathen music.......

I actually hate this song. But....one question. "Set fire to the rain"? Care to elaborate? Anyone? This song makes no sense to me whatsoever.

To understand on any level, you would have to know what it is like to have to fight your own passion and flesh to destroy the very thing that has you bound, in order to get free. I hear a heart cry of a free woman that had to do a very painful act to get free of an endless mindgame and addictive but destructive relationship dynamic. Like breaking free from a cult or brain washing, even abusive or toxic situations are sometimes hard to break free from and it feels like destroying your own heart.

She set fire to the rain. She purified and destroyed her own passion that had her drenched in the grip of powerful emotion but enslaved in something painful. She through 'us" into the flame. She destroyed the relationship that had her enslaved.

I wish I hadn't explained it, because I wish I didn't understand it so well.
