I love Christian hard rock, namely Red, Disciple, and Skillet, because such genres embody the struffle against the flesh, and the great passion we are to have for Christ ad followers of Him. Yes, some songs take things a little far. But some of the Christians who relate to these songs come from dark places, and often feel they are "Fading in the Black" (Skillet) and need God to "Breathe into Me" (Red). It is an intense crying out to God, and we see that many people do this in Scripture in times of peril. Wailing and weeping before God in the hope that He will heed their cry. And we have a compassionate Father, who indeed hears. People don't always know how to express their intense feelings of depression and pain to the Father, and this type of genre really helps some people express that.

I don't listen to a lot of Christian music.
Love rock tho...not Christian rock, just rock, especially heavy rock.

Demon Hunter are bold Christians. Their logo is a demon with a bullet hole in its head (demon Hunter). Pretty obvious if you take more than a glance and don't already have bias before looking at it. But that's how people operate. They dislike or disagree and then approach it with an attempt to be proven right. Which entirely discredits your opinion because you aren't looking for truth, but to be right.

I've been listening to Christian metal for almost 30 years. My favorite pastor is a metal pastor, in his 60s. His genuine joy and compassion shines through his enormous, gentle smile. Even through the long hair and tattoos. More so than the crusty, frown lipped vibe of the closed minded biased types shining their judgment here.

People think that some artists being fake is evidence that the music is wrong. But by that logic every position held by church leaders discredits all if those positions as well.
The number one reason given, by seminary students, further desire to be a pastor? Job security. Not God. Not a calling. Not a desire for ministry.

In Any aspect of ministry there are going to be fakes. Or those not living up to the position. This is an issue with the individual, not the position they hold.
Oops, I let logic into the argument, rather than manmade tradition and personal bias. Sorry Pharisees.
A metal pastor? I'm intrigued. What's his name?

I totally agree with you. That's a big reason I like heavier music. Lacey Sturm from flyleaf once said in an interview that some lyrics just need to be screamed for the full effect of ir and the emotion in it.
