Secular or Christian. Who do you enjoy the most? Or..if you are a musician (like myself) what musician has blessed/influenced you most on the instrument you play???
For me,I am/was a drummer. I originally wanted to be a guitar player when I was a kid. I was unfortunately the most impatient person ever & wanted overnight to be as good as the guitar players I was listening to at the time. (Randy Rhodes,Mick Mars,Carlos Cavazo,Akiria Takasaki)...that was so not happening! A friend of mine brought over 2 albums that changed my life forever. The 1st (self titled) Metal Church album & Deliver Us by Warlord. Well listening to those 2 drummers (Kirk Arrington & Mark S. Zonder) blew my mind. I knew I had to be a drummer. Drumming came much easier for me as well. There wasn't so much thought into it...it just flowed out of me. I could hear someone play something & visualize it in my mind & copy it. I still to this day can barely read drum tab,but if you let me hear a track a few times I can play it.
I always loved jazz music too for the odd syncopation.

I missed a couple...

Vocals: Brent Smith (shinedown)
Guitar: Eppu (nightwish)
Drums: Alex what's his name from P86.

P.S. The drummer on Ballydowses second album may sound good but he's a horror to play with.

I'm a singer/guitarist, so I don't think about drummers/bassists as much. I'll just do guitar and vox. I'm biased towards vocalists who write their own songs and write them well after all, what do you add bass and drums to without a song?

Guitar:
Hendrix - sounds trite but, I am right. Watch ANY live vid of him playing. I have never seen anyone become one with their instrument like him.
Hetfield and Hammet - Ride the Lightning.. Genius. Enough said.
Jimmy Page

Vocal/Songwriter:
Gavin Rossdale - coolest sounding voice ever
Hetfield - some people say he can't sing. some people are dumb.
Matthew Good - Canadian singer/songwriter. Amazing.
Billy Corgan - Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie... Brilliant.

as far as drummers. I don't really know. My good friend Cody is a big metal fan (I can't stand it), and he was always talking about the drummer for Origin.
