I'm sad to see people don't like RED's new album,...Because I have alllll of their older ones,..I'm probably one of their biggest fans. No joke. I just haven't had a chance to get their newest yet.

I really love this song by Pillar though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HNF2gqokP8 Hopefully that link works lol

Its been a while since I've been really into this stuff, But I still love it. Lol

Some other bands I love are Skillet, TFK, Disciple,..I did venture out there a bit and listen to As I lay dying, but they're a bit iffy on the Christian lyrics,..I wouldn't suggest them. There are others but they're escaping me at the moment. :p
ronnie:

Did you also listen to For Today's Devastator, that Nautilus posted?

The video starts a bit gory (I didn't like the beginning of it) but the lyrics are very Biblical, and the hard rock is good, I thought.

Blessings.

Hi Ronnie.
Skillet are very enjoyable. Their music genre has definitely changed since their early days. Why do you think As I Lay Dying's lyrics are a bit iffy? Have you tried Living Sacrifice? They're good but a bit more old school.

ronnie: Well, it sounds like your taste in this style is well established, anyway.

As a person would you describe yourself maybe as a Christian hard rock lady, kind of as defining you to some extent?

Blessings.

I didn't see any gore but there was blood. You expect that sort of thing in an intense spiritual battle.

I'm not as picky about my music as others seem to be haha. I love that song. I've blasted it in my house a number of times, along with the rest of that album.
ronnie: So does your mom like it, too? she's probably of a generation that has also been into Christian hard rock.

Blessings.

I did watch that video! I liked the song, though its a bit heavier than my usual style, I still enjoyed it. However, all the blood and stuff is not for me. I'm too girly for that. Lol

I would describe myself as someone who likes all genres of music, From rock and metal like this, to country, to classical,...I like everything lol.

I have listened to some of Demon Hunter's stuff! My brother used to have a ton of their CDs, he liked them more than I did.

And my parents, no, Neither of them appreciate this style of music. I have to wait until I'm home alone to play my music loudly haha

The video's lyrics are really hard hitting and Biblical, aren't they? :)

And style-wise, there's even some screamo in the hard rock/heavy metal. Can you appreciate a measured use of screamo as well?

I think such tracks can be a powerful witness tool.

Blessings.

ronnie:

Some measured amount of screamo intermixed with Biblical lyrics in hard rock style can be quite effective, I think.

Have you played any of your Christian hard rock as a witness to non-Christian friends, maybe?

Blessings.

I admit I haven't. I've been a serious Christian for about a month now, and I don't get out much. So the witnessing has been a bit limited.

ronnie:

Well, if you make sure you follow a daily Bible reading habit in a prayerful way - without fail - you will find that witnessing is something that you will want to do. Music is only one of many ways to witness.

Blessings.

Thanks guys :) I actually just got to have a conversation like that with a coworker last night. It just wasn't musically based. It was pretty interesting :)

It doesn't even need to be audible to others, but if someone is 'making melody in your heart to the Lord', then others will eventually notice that there is something different about you.

Praying for you, too.

Blessings.

In the past few albums AILD have moved away from their faith, particularly the vocalist. Which was why he was sent to prison this month for hiring an undercover cop to kill his estranged wife. There are bands in that same style with much better lyrics and reputations.

Yeah, I heard that they were a Christian band, and then when listening to their stuff I just got a vibe, like,..This isn't so great. So I left em alone. Now I see why. Lol
