I have a question, when we pump oil that is pressurized out of the earth, and then leave it as a chasm... What is holding up the earth above this chasm?

Now what happens when we take these holes and fracture them to get a little more oil out...

I remember digging in the sand and trying to make caves that would go under and then back up... During elementary school we would see how many we could do before the cave system would collapse... We would not let anyone even walk near the cave system, because they would collapse it unintentionally... We understood this theory in 3rd grade...

Just food for thought...

Do the Middle East country have trouble with collapses? They sure have enough sand...at least in the Hollywood movies I've seen of the M.E.

There are a lot of empty caverns across Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. I think that there will be a lot of adjustments that will result in earthquakes. Most fracking wells displace oil with a high pressure water based liquid. I'm not convinced that they cause earthquakes. JMHO.

I will say that God gave man dominion over the earth. That makes him responsible for the way he treats it. When I look at the damage that we have done to it in my short lifetime, I know that he is unhappy with what we have done to it.

I wonder if this is another warning from God to the US President not to mess with Israel. These quakes happened just a few hours after the US government condemned Israel for witholding about Half a billion shekels, approx US$127million, in Palestinian tax revenues as a result of the Palestinian Authority's attemped to join the International Criminal Court.

Past few days there has been a lot of tension and discussion between Israel and the USA over this. Israel has asked the USA to suspend payments of aid to the PA.

Watch this space as they say.

Quakes happen constantly though. Occasionally one is going to line up with things you may disagree with.

Which is why I said "I WOnder if" and "watch this space".

Coincidence is when God chooses to remain anonymous.

God has been punishing nations for doing stuff against Israel, if we see the USA giving the finger to Israel and supports the enemies of Israel over this latest issue, then I would not be surprised if within 24 hours, there is a massive earthquake at the top or there abouts in the "worst in US History" table.

But yes it could just be natural and nothing in it.

Here is an intersting book to read
Eye to Eye: Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel By Koenig.

yeah i guess im not one to believe that natural seismic activity are signs of an angry God, nor do I follow the evangelist approach of brown-nosing this current israeli state.
