Montgomery pastor admits to having AIDS, sleeping with church me - WBTV 3 News, Weather, Sports, and Traffic for Charlotte, NC

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

It's an announcement that continues to rock a Montgomery church and the surrounding community.

WSFA 12 News confirmed with church leaders, including the now former pastor of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Juan Demetrius McFarland himself, that McFarland confessed from the pulpit a few Sundays ago that he had full blown AIDS and had slept with church members without revealing he had AIDS.
Shocked and stunned, church members contacted the 12 NEWS DEFENDERS and reaction is coming in from the congregation that is still in disbelief.
McFarland didn't hold back when he revealed to worshipers at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church on Sept. 14, that he contracted HIV in 2003 and discovered in 2008 he had AIDS.

wow..this is all very sad..but it is his punishment for abusing his church authority and sleeping with other church members. Don't any of these people have morals? Or common sense? I hope to God he gets disbarred or whatever they call gettind rid of pastors. I feel sorry for his family, and the families of anyone he slept with who may now get the AIDS virus. I however have no sympathy for him or those who slept with him, knowing it was wrong for one, and did'nt use protection of any kind. These people are now reaping what they have sown.

I wonder that I would ever marry again when even pastors do those things and look at pornography on their church computers.

For the pastor, no sympathy, agreed. But you cannot condemn all the church members considering people come to church who are not converted. It's not just saved people. So this guy could have easily led people astray blind people or even the lukewarm in his position as a wolf at the pulpit.

Isaiah 56:10-12King James Version (KJV)

10 His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.

11 Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.

12 Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.

Zechariah 11:17King James Version (KJV)

17 Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.

Drugs, theft, AIDs, and adultery admitted to by his own mouth, yet church members are still defending him. People need to start expecting better their pastors. Pastors should blameless, theologically educated, etc. But, are ignorant or crooked pastor going to instill these values into his congregation, of course not. Ignorance begets ignorance.

I think I'll call my congressman & suggest we proclaim October 9th as National Pastor Bashing Day..... After all there doesn't seem to be anyone against it. Then we can watch it on Fox News & CNN as our wonderful Commander-in-Chief addresses the nation of its passage. That ought make the one-eyed shadow government do back flips.:mad:

You're defending this meatbag?

Seriously, he slept with church members knowing he had HIV and stole church funds. This wasn't some guy who simply made a mistake - he did it repeatedly and endangered other lives in the process.

There's a difference between self harm and harm to others.

Oh come on! I doubt this creep led them into bed by saying "sleep with me and God will save your soul"! LMBO Get real, this guy knew what he was doing, as did those who CHOSE to sleep with him!!

Many of these so-called churches are nothing more than brothels, whorehouses, nightclubs or hangouts. They are created & led by Satan's disciples.

1.) This case is a month old2.) Yes, there is shame on his part for not having told the women he slept with that he has AIDS.3.) No, he is not the only person who should receive the blame. The ladies he slept with have to be held accountable as well for their actions as they knew full well that having relations outside of marriage was sinful. It's really not that complicated lol

This is nothing like the Pharisees and Sadducees. Those were educated men who lived relatively very moral lives. The pastor here in question is an ignorant piece of trash. Jesus condemned some of his jewish contemporaries mainly because they rejected him and because they were often hypocrites.

No I'm not defending him! I'm tired of preachers in general being bashed..... so many have already spoke harshly of ministers & what they're doing...... therefore every minister gets bashed in the end, the good & the bad as one group. All I've heard is how the ministers are rotten & sinful..... I'm a minister, so how do you think that makes me feel?

I'm speechless. I dont know what to say. I'm angry at the pastor because he didnt bother telling his bed partners about having HIV. HIV is a serious matter and ive seen a lot of people dying from HIV. What has gotten into world? And most of all, He is a pastor and he ought to be a role model to his congregation. I know pastors and church leaders can still drift apart but people are looking up to them. This makes me really sad. :(
